People hate waste. The primal reaction when it comes to waste is the same as when it comes to emotional rubbish. If we can dig a whole and bury it, or just cover it up and make it disappear from our site, we would gladly do it. But as with emotional rubbish, the common household waste still stinks, no matter if it's buried or merely covered. So the way you treat waste and the attitude you have about the issue shows much about your personality and your personal growth.

For a person to start noticing such trivial problems and not avoid them, first she/he must get out of the box. Most people live in a closed, tiny world of every-day problems, duties and obligations. They are so obsessed with it that they don't notice anything else. But the Rubbish/Waste/Pollution problem is so much bigger than that, so it's just easier not to think about it.

Do you think you are out of your comfort zone? Let's check.

Do you like to travel? Do you love animals? Are you interested in environmental issues? Do you know anything else about the global warming and the Ozone hole, except that it exists? While reading this, you're maybe thinking " What do these things have to do with household waste?". The answer is "a lot". And if you think out of the box and follow the logic, you will find the connection.

Recycling is maybe the first step. Simple thing that makes a big change. If you recycle, it means you care. You care about the woods, the soil, the water, and the air, all of which take the negatives of our waste. Obviously, we cannot stop producing rubbish, but at least we can be responsible for what happens with it next. A little "Reuse, Reduce, Recycle" in your life not only gives you peace of mind that you're giving your fair share in the fight for saving the planet, but it's a great example for others to do so as well.

Anyway, common household rubbish is not all junk there is. Construction waste, old furniture or clothes, hazardous materials, green waste … it's an endless list. Here it will become clear if you are on the next level or not. You don't need to be an enthusiastic environment activist or even a cleaning freak to show the right attitude towards waste. What you consider rubbish may be a treasure for somebody else. If you give your old clothes to the people in need and leave your furniture on the right spots so that someone else can take advantage of it, you are definitely on that next level. And what about the construction waste? Of course you would want it remove as soon as possible. Too many harmful substances could hide in the pile left after the renovation. And you are right, it has to go and it has to go far away from you and your family. If you've checked the options before starting the renovation, you'll know that there are professionals who can take proper care of your waste. Leaving the hard work to them will be one of those win-win situations. Rubbish is gone in no time and you are sure that it is nowhere near your children. If handled properly, the your junk will have much less negative impact on nature and the entire planet as well.

Everything we do says something about us and so does our attitude towards rubbish. Have we grown enough not to think only for ourselves? Do we want to show our kids all the beauties of our planet? Maybe we have, maybe we do. If you do such small things as those mentioned above, I can say (from my point of view) that you love humans, nature, animals, you maybe like to travel and want to see all the beauties around without the plastic bottles or any other trash making the picture ugly. You care about the future. It's strange, but rubbish can actually give hope, no, not the rubbish itself, but rather the way we look at it and deal with it. In conclusion, it seems that good people have good attitude towards waste. That's it.
