Being frustrated and discouraged will happen while you are your road to success. Nobody can avoid this. Even people who do nothing for their success will have these moments! But what’s important is how you react to those moments.
It’s perfectly fine to react when something bad happens. In fact it’s good to let it out. But you need to learn to let it go. Because if you don’t that’s when people give up and quit. So you need to take control of the situation and find a solution to the problem!
I react pretty strongly when something doesn’t go my way. I scream and yell and I sometimes hit things. Just so you know; I do this when nobody is around. And if there is somebody around I do this in my head. And when it’s in my head, it’s not a pretty sight. The mental pictures that I have are… well pretty intense ? But after a few moments, I gather my thoughts and focus on possible solutions to fix the problem.
Besides helping people find success in life (more information on my 6 secrets to success on this site www.cheerstothegoodlife.com), I enjoy investing in real estate. And this can be stressful from time to time. Just getting through the process of getting the property can be very demanding. But the real action starts when you get possession of the property. You need to fill it fast or else you are stuck paying the mortgage and losing lots of money! (Here’s one of my many moments of discouragement)
When I bought my first property I was obviously new to the real estate game. I did some research on how to market my property to get the best possible tenants for it. So basically I applied what I learned! But after a few weeks of mediocre success I didn’t know what was going on. I couldn’t understand why the marketing strategies weren’t working. I remember this one time coming back from showing the property to possible tenants that did not have any potential of being close to great tenants… I was in my car driving home screaming and yelling, hitting the armrest wondering what I was doing wrong and why my advertising was attracting these types of people. I don’t know if anyone was looking at me but if they did they probably thought I was crazy… By the time I got home, I had the time to calm down and control my emotions. I had to find some tenants quickly because the first payment of the mortgage was coming and I didn’t budget for that. (Remember, it was my first property… lesson learned!) I knew this was a make it or break it situation. So I jumped back on the computer and searched for other ways to market the property. I thought up more ideas and applied them the next morning. I wish I can tell you that I filled the property before the mortgage payment but I can’t. And you know what? It doesn’t matter because now I know lots of different ways to market my properties. And every time I get a new one, I fill it out faster than the one before ?
The important lesson I learned was that I didn’t quit when a difficult situation arrived. And that’s why I have more real estate. A lot of people quit and that’s why they complain all their lives and wonder why they can’t succeed in life. You need to realize now that there’s no easy way to success! I don’t care what anybody else tells you. And if they do tell you that there is an easy way, I can guarantee 100% it’s because they are trying to sell you something…
So remember that your emotions will guide you to success! When you get angry and you feel that you are going to fail, let it out! Punch, scream, yell, kick, etc. Do what it takes, but let it out. (Just don’t actually hit anyone or break other people’s property, that’s not what I’m telling you to do…) And when you are done, that’s when you’ll decide what to do. Either you do nothing and you are a failure or you work harder and find success.
Cheers to Your Good Life
