Are you a part of a team? Or do you feel alone?

For years I felt I had to do everything by myself. I didn’t believe I could ask for help. Nor did I feel I could receive it. I felt completely alone.

Gradually, I opened up my heart and allowed the universe to support me. I found comfort in working with God and the beautiful angels that were always there to guide me. However, I wasn’t completely open to allowing people to help me. I didn’t trust that I could have this kind of support and love. I was reminded of this today as my little Maltese, Squirt, had a severe breathing attack.

Squirt is 11 years old. When she was young, she had constant issues with her breathing. The first attack was the scariest. There she was weighing all of two pounds and suddenly it occurred. Her little body trembled, coughing, wheezing, and gasping for air. The attacks always started out slowly. Then the more Squirt struggled, the more severe they became.

Over the years, Squirt’s attacks have lessened, usually having them once or twice a year. However, no matter how severe, the key to stopping them has always been to help her calm down.

Thankfully, I discovered early on that if I put my hands on Squirt and allowed the light of God and the angels to come through me, the attack would stop. However, that didn’t happen this morning.

Squirt’s attack today was the worst I’ve seen in years. As she coughed and wheezed and struggled for air, I asked my hubby, Charlie, to put his hands on Squirt to help her calm down. Charlie has wonderful healing hands so I thought this would do the trick. It did, but only for a minute.

Squirt crawled her way to me and sat down. I felt the beautiful light of the archangel Raphael, the angel of healing, pour through my hands. Squirt calmed down…but again, for just a minute. That’s when Charlie and I came together with our hands on Squirt, along with our angel friend Raphael.

As we joined our hearts in healing, I received an incredible message: This was our team. Charlie, the angel and me, working together to create peace and healing. And in that union, Squirt finally relaxed and her breathing settled down.

As I look at the many different struggles I’ve dealt with over the years, there is always one key component: I wasn’t open to receiving help and love. I had shut myself down to support not only from the angels and God, but from the people around me. It was as if I had cut myself from the team and benched myself in darkness.

What I know for sure now is that we all need support and love. Our natural birthright is to be a part of the whole. We’re not meant to be alone. That’s not who we are. Squirt’s attack today was a wonderful reminder of this truth. We are all a part of this big beautiful universe and have all the love and support that we could ever want. It’s our choice to be open to receive this kind of abundance. So, I ask you again, who’s on your team? Or have you benched yourself and shut down to love?
