Does it ever feel to you that you have a little "devil" inside sabotaging your best efforts? This obscure part of you that wants the exact opposite of what you have desired for the longest time seems to be constantly lurking destroying any hope for your perfect life.

This little part of you comes out at the most inopportune times to sabotage your best efforts. If you didn't know better you'd say you were crazy. We all have this at times. It may manifest for different people in different ways. It's this little devil that makes up your "core".

I'm going to go waaaaay out on a limb here and generalize in a HUGE way.

I think that everyone has the same core...

Mr. and Ms. Inadequate please step forward.

If you are not achieving what you want to achieve, you don't have the relationships you wish to have, are not experiencing the levels of joy, harmony and prosperity that you desire, then it is the "little devil" of inadequacy that keeps you playing small.

I dare say that we all struggle with inadequacy because it is pervasive within our society. It is so pervasive that we rarely see it. It's like a fish in water. Because the fish has always been in water it doesn't know that it's in water. We are like the fish swimming in the great body of water I call inadequesea.

Swimming in the inadequesea makes it nearly impossible or at the very least an incredibly long process for positive affirmations to take hold within our subconscious mind. I liken it to the fish swimming in water affirming that he breathes air with lungs. Because his survival depends on his not believing that his subconscious rejects it immediately.

Our core beliefs about who we are are informed to a HUGE degree if not entirely by our religions. Even if you were not raised in a religious home or if you have since moved into another understanding of God our society is still based on Christian beliefs that as humans we are less than God, that we were born imperfect (inadequate) or sinners, that we humans make mistakes, that women are less than men, it goes on and on. And to believe otherwise is blasphemy and will sentence us to eternal suffering.

Because our subconscious is all about protecting us then we are liken to the fish who affirms his air breathing abilities, his core is protecting him. Our core is protecting us from getting too big for our britches. Our subconscious actually believes that it is protecting us by keeping us from fully experiencing joy and freedom in our lives because it has become ingrain within us over generations that to suffer is holy.

This becomes the core inadequacy that manifests as I'm not smart enough, I can't trust myself, I don't have time, I can't, it's impossible, I can't handle the responsibility, nobody would listen to me, I'm only human. I'm sure you can add many more.

When the truth is we are all the Power and the Presence of God. Capable of pure joy, success, freedom, opulence and love. The opposite of inadequate is wholeness.
You are Wholeness- Holiness. Created in the image of God. You are created in perfection. You are fully adequate. You are enough just as you are.

Tapping out inadequacy:

Karate Chop: Even though I feel that I am inadequate in many ways, I deeply and completely love, accept and forgive myself. repeat 3x or more

Eyebrow: I'm not good enough
Outer eye: I'm scared of my power
Under eye: I am not enough
Under nose: I don't trust myself
Chin: I am not safe to be empowered
Collarbone: It's better to suffer, suffering is holy, God loves me more when I suffer
Under arms: I can't handle success, money, or peace, besides it would be boring.

Repeat these statements for a few rounds. See what comes up for you. Are there memories of being told that you were not good enough, that you made bad decisions. Continue tapping until no emotion or very little comes up.

Then move on to:

Eyebrow: but maybe this is just a story.
Outer eye: and it's a lousy story
Under eye: I give myself permission to release this story.
Under nose: I release this lousy story now
Chin: I embrace the truth
Collarbone: I am good enough, I am the power and presence of God, I am capable, I can, I can, I can.
Under arms: I embrace the truth now, maybe God wants me to thrive, maybe God wants to express fully through ME!

Eyebrow: I am capable
Outer eye: I am smart
Under eye: I trust myself. I trust my instincts
Under nose: I trust my intuition.
Chin: I trust the God within me, I express my God self beautifully.
Collarbone: I am guided to success, I am guided to freedom, I am guided to prosperity, I am guided to Love, harmony and peace.
Under arms: I am a beautiful child of God. A God of love and generosity.

Take in a long slow deep breath and tune in and observe how you feel.

Continue the process until you feel empowered and peaceful.
