Why Marry And Date Jewish?

Studies show that most Jewish people today would like to marry other Jews, yet now more than ever Jews are marrying Non-Jews.
So why marry Jewish? A rabbi could tell you the religious reasons to do so, but we are going to focus on something else here, your happiness. Researchers have reported that two-religion marriages have more tension and disagreements than comparable in same-faith marriages. The causes of this vary from which holidays to celebrate and observe and how to raise the kids. Also different embedded religious and cultural attitudes towards money, relationships, and child rearing have been noted as causes of conflicts.
Such issues lead to higher divorce rates and lower “marriage happiness” rates. With far fewer long-term problems to deal with, same-faith marriages have a much higher chance of being happy and successful than comparable intermarriages.

Researchers have also reported the prevalence of problems even if the non-Jewish spouse agrees to raise the kids Jewish. As people get older they realize that they value the traditions they were brought up with and often feel the need to raise their children the same way despite prior sincere agreements.
What about dating non-Jews?

For many people, especially those in their late teens and early twenties, dating and marriage seem quite disconnected. As such, it seems quite reasonable to date non-Jews while still planning to marry Jewish in the end. The problem is emotions are stronger than most people think and it is easy to get in too deep.

If you have a strong sense of Jewish identity that you want to pass onto your children then you owe it to yourself to date/marry Jewish.
