Why Should You Work With HR Executive Firms?
Written by Melissa Nathans
Why should you work with an executive HR firm instead of hiring new employees? Better yet, why should you work with such a firm instead of outsourcing your needs to the cheapest company in town?
HR executive workers are of a higher skill level than traditional office workers. Executive-level professionals, by definition, have anywhere from five to thirty years of experience in corporate and professional HR work. Furthermore, these are expert workers who have recent "hands-on" training and experience in the specific task you require.
HR executive workers are screened for their suitability and legal right to work. Some client companies may request a worker with a particular talent, cultural background or personal history. This can be a good idea if you are filling a "niche task." Workers hired in this manner are able to start assignments immediately.
The workers themselves certainly see an advantage to this arrangement. They can enjoy scheduling flexibility as well as the benefits of a full time job. These benefits never affect you as the hiring company. They are covered by the staffing firm. In fact, you are only paying for the specialized labor, and minimizing your own liability in this situation.
The hiring company keeps the workers only as long as they are needed. The assignment can end abruptly if your needs dictate, and it does not raise any severance or legal issues. On the other hand, many companies have been so impressed with HR executive employees they have hired these temporary workers as permanent employees.
Nowadays, it is just as common for HR workers to seek contracting as a working lifestyle as it is for large companies to outsource. Many of these executives have their own consulting practices, or may be trying out new positions or even entirely new industries. They want to "test the waters", that is work unofficially in an office for valuable experience. So in essence, an HR executive arrangement benefits every party involved.
This is called a form of "super niche staffing." Instead of hiring regular employees (always a big risk) you are outsourcing your specialized needs to experienced consultants. This costs you much less in the long-run and still accomplishes your tasks in record time. It's your choice whether this position should be temporary, seasonally recurring or permanent.
Before deciding to hire a team of barely qualified workers, consider getting a specialist involved by investing in a HR executive firm.
