Yosemite camping reservations are a must if you want to stake your claim to the choice spots. There are plenty of camping choices in and around Yosemite National Park that allow you to stay in your RV, trailer or tent.

There are four campgrounds in the valley. South of the valley, yet still inside of this US National park, are two more choice campgrounds. North of the valley, and inside the park, there are seven campgrounds to stay in. Several campgrounds are open year around. Most campgrounds have hundreds of spaces. A favorite place to camp in Yosemite is above the valley floor, in Tuolumne Meadows.
Hookups are not available for RVs and trailers at every campground. Some campgrounds are just for tents. If you like to backpack and stay in the wilderness, there is more than 1,100 square miles to pitch your tent! Just make sure that you get a permit before heading out.

After you get your camp set up, there are many things for you to do here. Horseback riding, fishing, hiking, see the big trees, rock climbing, walk through meadows, star gaze at night, float the river, seek out wildlife, shops the Village stores or just look around you and take pictures with your camera.

Yosemite National Park is home to about 500 North American Black bears. When you camp, it is your responsibility to keep your food out of reach from the bears. Every campsite is equipped with bear lockers.

The bears' natural diet is the grassy meadows, insects, berries, seeds and acorns. But they really love human food. To a bear, food in a campground is easy ... they don't have to chase it! Don't leave food out in your campground or in your vehicle. If a bear gets to it, a park ranger will fine you. Since bears are so interested in food, just do your part and keep it locked up.

Yosemite is spectacular every month of the year. The look of this place and the activities within all change with the season. And every season, brings something great.

The first tourists to this area came in stagecoaches, and they certainly wouldn't have had to worry about Yosemite camping reservations! Now they come in the thousands in RVs and cars to marvel at the wondrous views and spend time camping in this breathtaking place - so make sure you book early to avoid disappointment.
