Living without light is very difficult. The sun is our main source of light and energy during the day but at night we rely on light bulbs for light. Doing so has allows us to carry out our normal activities 24 hours a day. While the energy savings are good with CFL bulbs there are some tradeoffs to using them. Generally CFL bulbs will emit less heat and uses more of the energy flow to give light. There will be a lot less energy waste and the CFL light bulbs typically have a good life span. Under normal use, CFL bulbs will last 8,000 to 12,000 hours. CFL bulbs cost more than incandescent bulbs but the upfront expenses are paid back over time by not paying for the wasted energy.

Light Emitting Diodes, also known as LED bulbs, are a very good energy saver compared to all the other technologies. In the beginning, LED bulbs were used as pen lights but today we can find many products suitable for household use. Their lifespan is very long, typically over 20,000 hours. Best of all, they use only 70 - 80% of the energy a traditional incandescent bulb uses. The initial cost for these LED bulbs is high but they will pay back your investment within a few months. They can be used as home lighting which will consume much less energy compared to other technologies. Choose the best bulb for your application to save the most money and energy.
