It can be a real downer! You've landed the date, everything seemed to be OK but for some reason that first meeting was the last time you saw her. What happened?

Well, assuming you didn't do anything really crazy like insult her mother or hit on the waitress there are a number of other reasons why she might have run for the hills:

1. You act needy and play the nice guy:

This is the number ONE killer of attraction for most women. I don't care if the girl is a supermodel or the shy girl next door; acting needy is total death for attraction in women. The more you hang off her every word, the less chance you have of ever seeing her again.

2. Your mantra is 'treat em mean keep em keen'.

If this really is your war cry when you go on a date then it is unlikely that you will ever have a happy, fulfilling relationship. We all know of the 'bad boys' that have attracted women but those relationships are often of the poorest quality, and the women in question are often dysfunctional on many levels. Quality women like quality guys, remember that.

3. You are nervous on dates:

Ok, EVERYONE gets nervous on a date but the trick is not to show it too much. You will have heard it a thousand times: women are attracted to confidence; and it's VERY true. Guys who act nervous create an uncomfortable atmosphere, and a first date needs to be tension free. A good question to ask yourself on a date is 'what atmosphere am I creating?'

4. You are tight with cash on dates and ask her to pick up the parking fee:

Look, there is no reason why you should pick up the tab for everything that the two of you do together (and trying to 'buy her' is never a good way to build attraction); but being tight with money and expecting everything to cut 50\50 all of the time is just cheap in the eyes of women! Get the balance right. Besides, most women of any quality will not expect you to pay for everything, and will be more than willing to pay their way.

5. Being overly complimentary and coming across as an ass kisser!

Let's be clear here; there is nothing wrong with giving compliments to a woman at the right time and in the right way; but telling a woman she is beautiful is unlikely to have the effect you want. In fact, when you give such high compliments early on, they actually work against you. Compliments are fine in an established relationship but those early dates are not the time!

6. Being overly conce
ed as to if the date is 'working out':

Dates can be infuriating when things seem to be going well but you just feel a bit unsure as to whether or not she is having a good time. The urge is to 'check in' with her and ask needy questions such as: 'did you have a good time?' or 'will I see you again?'. Yuck!! You have to assume everything is going great and act that way! You do not need verbal confirmation, so forget the 20 questions routine.

7. You act like her therapist:

What do I mean by this? I know of so many guys who go on dates with women and end up listening to all their problems. The fact that they never see these girls again doesn't seem to ring any bells with them! A woman generally has plenty of girlfriends to discuss her problems with, and she isn't recruiting for a therapist! When she is on a date with you the focus has to be on fun and enjoyment! So leave Dr.Phil at the door.

Of course, there are many others ways that a guy can mess up those critical early dates with women; but with just a little knowledge any man can learn how to 'be dateable', and go on to have amazing success with women.
