"Why You Should Work in the Information Technology Industry!"

When you start looking at your options regarding your career, you quickly find that there are just a ton of different industries to work in.

Well, this article will focus on exactly why you should work in the IT (Information Technology) industry.

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last 10 years, you've probably heard about Y2K or the Year 2000 problem.

Well if you remember as a result of this, the Information Technology industry was booming due to the extra work of fixing the Y2K problem. This made the IT industry a great industry to work in (especially since a lot of other industries were in decline).

You might think - yeah I already knew that it was busy during Y2K, but that was just a temporary blip.

However, what you might NOT know is that since Y2K - actually since about 2002, IT has been increasing like mad, where it is MUCH busier now than it was at the height of Y2K!

Can you believe that?

That means that there is no better time tha
NOW to get into IT and start out-earning your friends who work in other industries whose growth is grinding to a halt.

You might also think that IT only has "propeller heads" or "nerds" working in it.

Not true.

In IT, you definitely CAN work in highly technical roles if you choose to, but you also have other less technical disciplines that you can get into where you don't have to be a programmer.

Some of these include Business Analysis, Project Management and Technical Writing to name a few.

If you want to stay technical, no issues - you can.

You can work as a Programmer/Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, Network Administrator, Security Consultant, ERP consultant, Quality Assurance Analyst - the list goes on and on.

And you can work for a company on a full-time basis (you are an employee of the company) or you can work as a contractor.

If you work as a contractor, you can make a killing in income. Not to mention the incredible tax advantages.

You get to be the "hired gun" - the person the company goes to to solve complex problems.

I have to tell you that it's incredibly satisfying and fulfilling to work in this industry.

There are far too many advantages to working in IT to get into in a short time, but I've listed some of the obvious ones above.

I hope you'll consider Information Technology as your industry of choice to work in, especially if you're unhappy in your current industry.

And you can finally start earning what you're worth.
