When I think back to my own journey through rebuilding my life, I often remember a few keys I did naturally that took my skills and talents to the next level. It definitely wasn't always easy, but there was one thing I always possessed that helped me keep going and make it to the next stage. That quality is a burning desire to succeed.
Over the course of my life, I have had some pretty profound moments. One of the most profound things that ever happened to me was being visited in my dreams by a deceased loved one. While I am a firm believe that life is full of signals, messages, and opportunities, it's not always easy to understand their hidden meanings. However, when you take the leap of faith and respond to these messages, watch out because life starts getting really interesting!
After cleaning out my car one afte oon many months ago, I realized how frequently I drank from plastic water bottles. Seeing that I am a huge supporter of the environment, I was astonished after counting 12 empty water bottles piling up in the backseat floor of my car. I never really stopped to think about how much plastic I was wasting, even though I always recycle.
Are you living a holistic lifestyle? Below are my top 59 holistic living checklist. This list could definitely be much longer, but I tried to include the most important ones so you can start living a life you love. When you incorporate these things into your life, magically things start happening--the world starts to change before your very eyes. Your perspective changes, which in turn makes living so much more fun!
I am a firm believe that readers are leaders, but I am also a true advocate of reading to enrich the quality of your life. Every time I need answers (and I usually want them right away) I turn to my favorite website, www.amazon.com and go on a shopping free. I buy my books in bulk and I do my research. I want to have a library of books that I will turn to time and time again, read over and over again, because I know that who I am today may shift slightly as I grow older.
Having just returned from a relaxing honeymoon vacation from the beautiful coast of Belize was a great reality check. Over the course of twelve months my fiance (now husband) had been planning our destination wedding in Palm Springs. While we were ecstatic to have a big party with our closest friends and family, one of the problems we faced in our relationship was how to manage our stress during this hectic time in our lives. With a quick reality check from my best friend, I quickly attuned a new attitude.
My entire adult life I have suffered from extreme skin problems. I was once covered head to toe (no joke) in psoriasis, a skin disorder resulting in red, scaly patches, all over my scalp, limbs, and torso. I also was plagued with acne as an adult. Being a girl with skin problems really affected my self-confidence. Having poor self-confidence and bad skin truly is a recipe for disaster. That disaster is called stress. When stress becomes involved with the condition it only makes matters worse. Stress shows up in many different forms.
I can already tell that the subject of procrastination is going to rumble up some deep rooted emotions because when it comes to slacking off, putting things off, or making excuses for your lack of motivation everyone is guilty of it from time to time. The real issue when it comes to procrastinating is how to get to the root of it so you can yank it out and replant it with a healthier foundation.
Who says getting what you want out of life has to be hard?. Getting what you want out of life is actually easier than you think. Turns out, all that clutter you have in your car, garage, wardrobe, or paperwork on your desk just might be the culprit to what's holding you back from getting all you want out of life. Could it really be as easy as declutter your space? Proof is in the pudding.
One of the trickiest part about helping my clients heal their bodies is trying to get them to see how the mind and the spirit are connected to the body. I find that one of the missing ingredients to healing is often not only changing your diet or choosing to exercise more; it is found in a forgiving heart.
There is this amazing universal energy that is circling around us in this time in our lives, one that has a very strong feminine force. The new generation of women taking part in the work force, not just as an employee, but as the employer of a small business. 99% of employers are small businesses and women-owned businesses have increased 20% since 2002. 1 in 5 business earning over 1 million dollars are owned by.. you guessed it women. So the funny thing that I can't wrap my head around is why women are still "competitive" with one another.
Setting a goal and achieving those goals could almost be two entirely different things. Achieving a goal means to take action while setting a goal means you know what it is you want. Well, in my experience I went from being scatterbrained about what I wanted to being quite strategic. Let's just say the latter helped bring my goals to the foreground and that's when my life took a serious change for the better.
When I went on my Italian vacation this time last year, I was on a reading frenzy. I literally couldn't get enough information jam packed into my head. Even though I had brought two books on my trip, I managed to finish both. By the time I was ready to board the flight back to the United States, I popped into a bookstore at the London airport (we had a layover there--by the way, surprisingly really delicious and healthy restaurant there called Giraffe!) to pick out another book for the long flight home.
What is change? How do you achieve true change? Why is change a crucial part of life? These are just a few questions that have been crossing my mind over the past several weeks. I wanted to know what the “equation” for change is, why some people have no problem trying new things, achieving their goals, while others struggle to make changes in their lives for an overall happier existence. What is it about change that really makes those “routine” people cringe?
One of my all time favorite subjects to talk about and dive deep into is the topic of starting a business. We have entered the Age of Aquarius which represents the teacher (and the teacher within). There is truly no better time to start a business and be a leader in your industry than right now.
After an extra long chat with one of my clients today, we did some break-through work to help ease some of the growing pains that come with owning your own business. I'm the first one to admit that having a business is the absolute BEST therapy session of my life. The hidden signals, signs, and experiences that are presented on a daily basis are surreal. It's as if having this passion to succeed doing something you love has a way of opening and slamming a lot of doors.
I'll admit it... I lost my cool last week. I had a technical malfunction with my merchant accounts and let's just say, it wasn't pretty. I'm not proud of my behavior, so I'm trying to make amends with the universe by sharing how important The Golden Rule is and how to achieve your best results when plagued with a less than desirable circumstance. The Golden Rule isn't something you do just when you need something or to get someone's attention. It's something you practice every day for the rest of your life. So what is The Golden Rule?
A few years ago a girlfriend of mine pulled me aside and said, "you know Angel, not everyone is like you. Not everyone can have their own business." And that got me thinking. First of all, I don't believe that is true. I truly believe you can have anything you want in this lifetime. So what is it that stops us from pursuing everything we desire?
Yesterday I went to see a one man play called Buddha: The Fantastic Journey, directed by John C. Reily. While I was engaged in the one man act, I realized the story of Siddhartha could easily have been a story about your life or mine. The Buddha was a man who left his wife and child to go on an inner quest to find enlightenment. Many may disagree with thechoice to leave a newbo child and wife to go on this kind of selfish act, but when you look at the bigger picture, you are able to see that everyone is on their own path. What's right for one, may not be right for another.
I recently married the love of my life on a hot Spring day in Palm Springs. Prior to the wedding it was a very stressful time in both of our lives. I was in the middle (still am!) of launching my online clothing boutique Vintage Valentine, while he was changing careers. We managed to get through the blood, sweat, and occasional dispute over the nuptial planning, but there was something about our bohemian vibe that reminded me what we stood for as a couple.
