Historically, bentonite clay has been used for centuries as a natural and effective internal cleanser. Clay is known for it’s detoxifying abilities. Bentonite clay got it’s name due to being recognized in the cretaceous rocks in Fort Benton, Wyoming, one of the world’s largest bentonite clay concentrations.
It says ‘natural’ soap, but is it really? I owned a natural soap making business, made the soap right on the store’s premises. Often customers would come in and ask if the soap was natural like the Body Shop and Lush. We knew that the Body Shop and Lush soap was not natural, so I looked at their websites to see why people were thinking this. I discovered that they used a lot of terms that would lead one to think this was so. More specifically, they used the term “naturally inspired”, along with other terms such as ‘against animal testing’, and ‘protect our planet’.
Bees wax is a natural wax produced in the bee hive of honey bees. It is the worker bees, the females, that create this wax, to build honeycomb cells for three purposes; raising their young, storing honey, and pollen. It takes eight times the consumption in honey to create the wax. It is estimated that bees fly 150,000 miles to create one pound of wax. It is the type of flowers gathered by the bees that determines the color of the wax, from a white to brown, most often a shade of yellow. Raw Food. Perhaps a better name would be natural food. You’ve probably heard about Raw Food, also known as Living Foods and Natural Hygiene. All words, that when first heard, may denote some negative images. Yes, some sponges are natural, but they are not a plant as most people think. They are an animal, albeit a very simple one. I came across a soap website that had everything I was checking for; totally natural soap and honesty. He also had a paragraph where he attested to no animal testing, all natural ingredients, eco-friendly products. Everything was correct except for his sea sponges. He stated they were from a sustainable farm, with fair trade applications, and not harvested from the wild, which is all good so far. Unfortunately, he did not realize that they were animals.
