Choosing to Wake Up

One day I woke up. On this day, I realized that I had been asleep for a very long time – years, actually. Somewhere in my late teens, I decided that life was too scary and difficult to handle, and so I flipped my life switch to auto pilot and crawled back into bed. If At First You Don't Succeed, Try Try Again

Why is it so hard to slow down – to take ourselves off of the treadmill of our busy lives and just be still? Why are we not welcoming stillness and peace and serenity? Why are we instead choosing chaos and imbalance and busyness? I had planned on taking a day off this weekend.
