In the world today we are faced with many choices. We are all built with the instinct for fight or flight when faced with confrontation. Recently I ran into a situation where I was faced with a rude, nasty response to a birthday greeting I had sent to an acquaintance through Facebook. I hadn't realized the link to the free ebook I normally send to my Facebook friends on their birthday had been changed. The gentleman in question reacted by sending me a snarly note back chiding me for sending him marketing material in his birthday greeting.
As parents our job is to teach our children how to be the person that will attract the kind of people they want to be around. As we empower them to respect and be kind to others, it will reflect on how they feel about themselves. When we teach them how to be a kind and responsible person we are really teaching them three things: Confidence, Character and Critical Thinking. Confidence: Confidence is the belief that you can do things well. There is an air of assurance and trust that others can see and are drawn to in relationships.

Home is where your heart is safe. It is the one place you can relax and be authentic. Home is not just walls, floor and bed, but the intangible aspects of your environment that make you feel welcome and blessed. It is, or should be, a refuge from the world. I am not going to write much about home because it is such a sacred and personal sanctuary.
