When deciding on the name of my business, I opted to concentrate on the one main thing that having therapy ensures – it really does ‘change lives’, and therefore, nearly 15 years ago, LifeChangers was born.

It is also the first course of study which I decided to enrol for in the School of Natural Health Sciences (SNHS). I always had a love of plants which was evident in me always trying to start and maintain a garden from childhood. I would plant flowers, vegetables and even fruit trees which showed great variety and innovation as space was oftentimes a limitation.
I am a writer, speaker, stress buster, life coach, problem solver, people empowerer, laughter lover, dedicated saboteur disarmer, hypnotherapist, inspiration generator, insight seeker and genius finder! But it wasn’t always this way. There was a time in my life when I could have written a thesis on ‘101 Ways to Shoot Yourself in the Foot Effortlessly!’ My life needed a drastic make-over.

This presentation will explore some of the fundamental causes of eating disorders and, more importantly, the negative health conditions they cause, focusing specifically on the deficiencies in micro nutrients that sufferers of disordered eating experience and how these alter health.
I have had the pleasure and privilege of being associated with the School of Natural Health Sciences for the last seventeen years as a course designer and writer and, in more recent years, as a tutor. Because of my long and enjoyable association with the School, when Julia Vaughan-Griffiths (School Principal) asked me to compile a book to assist potential students, and to introduce and de-mystify some of the terminology and practices in the various healing modalities available in holistic therapies, I was naturally delighted to undertake this task.
