This
modern-day allegory offers a blueprint to help people make the most of
their second chance to succeed in their careers or relationships. Danny
Sanders finds the perfect mentor to help him turn his dreams of
directing blockbuster feature films into reality. Rather than following
up on the amazing opportunity he’s offered, Danny continues down the
same self-defeating path. By viewing a number of his possible futures
and editing some of his past experiences, Danny ultimately discovers he
has everything he needs within himself to change. On the surface,
readers are treated to a simple yet magical tale of an aspiring
director’s struggle to climb to the top in Hollywood. On a deeper
level, however, the story communicates a set of principles, directives,
metaphors, and hints that appeal to the readers' unconscious mind,
which is willing and able to harness its power to help them succeed.
