I always knew I wanted to pursue a profession in the health area and to support the personal development of myself and others, but was unsure of where exactly I wanted to focus my energies. About 15 years ago, I received acupuncture from a master TCM practioner in Denver and had the remarkable experience of being "levitated" off the table during a treatment. It was the most fascinating and healing experience of my life and I knew I had to learn more about it, but at that time, acupuncture was not readily accepted by many westerners, so I pursued a more traditional degree in Human Services, but realized that was not where my passion lied. With the support of my family and friends, I decided to immerse myself in the study of acupuncture and chinese medicine and have not looked back. I received my MSTCM in 2003 from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine and have been practicing TCM for the past 5 years. Initially, I worked at a clinic that provided both western and eastern medicine; then a year ago, I made the decision to move out on my own and open a private practice in order to provide more individualized and personalized services to my clients. New Day Acupuncture was born and is the love of my life.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a powerful medicine that is effective in working with conditions that more traditional forms of western medicine have not resolved without medications and oftentimes, serious side effects. Acupuncture has been around for over 2500 hundred years and has successfully treated a multitude of chronic and painful conditions. In my practice, I use a combination of Eight Principles Acupuncture and Five Element Acupuncture, focused on helping the body to rebalance and achieve maximum health benefits. One of the benefits of my practice is that I also develop individualized herbal formulas from herbal extracts. In this way, I can create a specific formula based on your unique needs without you having to take a variety of pills or capsules. Acupuncture has no serious side effects and more and more people in the US are using this method to relieve pain and feel good again.
If you are experiencing pain, stress, or complications from various conditions including migraines, headaches, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis, allergies, insomnia, digestive problems, menopause or other chronic conditions, then acupuncture is a viable option to bring your life back into harmony. An initial visit and treatment takes between 90 minutes - 2 hours and encompasses a thorough history, both of your medical situation as well as lifestyle choices, diagnosis of your symptoms from a TCM perspective, and acupuncture treatment. Follow-up acupuncture treatments usually take 60 minutes and are scheduled based on an individualized treatment plan formalized for you. In addition to the acupuncture, oftentimes herbal remedies are prescribed to support the body's ability to heal itself.
