Deemed by the media as “Style Psychotherapists” and “Canadian Oprahs,” Carrie McCarthy & Danielle LaPorte founded Carrie & Danielle, Inc. to “start a revolution in authenticity.” They are the creators of Style Statement. Your Style Statement defines your essential self. It’s a two-word compass to guide your choices—from your wardrobe to your relationships, to your living room to your business plan.
Featured in Domino, Elle, The Huffington Post, Fashion, Flare, The Globe & Mail and Vogue Australia, Carrie & Danielle have worked with over six hundred Style Statement clients, and regularly advise women entrepreneurs.
Their on-line daily magazine will launch in May 2008. Thier new book, Style Statement: Live By Your Own Design, from publishers Little, Brown & Company, New York is available at Amazon.com and in bookstores everywhere.
Carrie McCarthy founded her interior design company eight years ago on the principle that true style should create both beauty and ease in people’s lives. She has designed for multi-million dollar estates and small studios, and styled for lifestyle magazines, luxury hotels and architectural firms.
As a graduate of the London College of Fashion, Carrie established Robe, a successful wedding dress company, which was a dramatic contrast from her early career as a nationally ranked track and field athlete. A former fashion model, Carrie is a regular personality in the media. Vancouver Magazine named her “One of the hottest designers in Vancouver.” Carrie and her husband live in her hometown of Vancouver. Carrie’s Style Statement is Refined Treasure.
Danielle LaPorte is a writer and seasoned communications strategist. For ten years, she ran her own publicity agency, The Next Level, strategizing campaigns for a number of visionary people and projects, including a Nobel Peace Laureate, the first woman nominated for a Nobel Prize in economics, a Pulitzer Winner, the Pentagon’s futurist of choice, a physicist-philosopher, and a few old pop stars.
Danielle was Executive Director of a DC-based think tank where she led a team of world-class analysts in studying trends and future scenarios. Early in her career, she helped run the Department of Social Inventions for The Body Shop Canada. There, she helped mastermind campaigns to aid Romanian orphanages, protect wildlife, promote volunteerism, and rock the vote. She and her fire-fighter husband and son live in Vancouver. Danielle’s Style Statement is Sacred Dramatic.
