I am committed to helping people recognize their self-worth as well as overcome challenges in order to achieve more fulfilling and meaningful lives. I demonstrate genuine care and compassion and provide a safe, supportive environment in which clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and experiences. My strength is identifying and fostering others’ strengths, thus instilling hope for a brighter, healthier, more satisfying future. My experience includes working with individuals facing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief and loss, career development, and relationship concerns. I work from a person-centered, strengths-based perspective, drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy and family of origin therapeutic techniques. I value self-expression, honesty, and respect in the counseling process and am dedicated to facilitating each person’s own exploration. From there, I further collaborate with clients to provide insight and to support subsequent plans of action that lead to positive change.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I hold a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Sociology from Trinity University in San Antonio. I am qualified to administer and interpret the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator as well as the Strong Interest Inventory. These assessments can help clarify a person’s personality preferences, individual interests, and personal strengths.
