My personal practice consists of a mixture of active healing, QiGong, Yoga, Meditation, Poetry, Writing, being the occasional Hermit, and above all: living within acceptance. I fall into the camp that believes Taoism is learned and embraced by living. Taoist texts are guides for when a person is blinded by larger cultural misconceptions and needing a reminder on how to be themselves. My practice has been of meandering wonder itself, a lifestyle explored from my earliest memories.
To some Taoist Lineage is transmitted knowledge from elders and is an important part of the Taoist Practice.
To others, Taoism is the ultimate expression of living life as oneself, outside all definitions, other than a personal path of experience. To be a Taoist is just to be purely yourself.
As a former engineer I know for a fact: Taoism is not rocket science, it’s simply being yourself. Of course we don’t come with assembly manuals like a standard rocket, so our very nature makes living itself the process of self discovery to enjoy, dance, detangle and play within.
To help others I offer various Taoist Services and a personal Taoist Retreats.
Teaching Taoism, how to learn about the Tao and life transformation practices.
Science is fact
Religion is faith
Magic is perception
Know these boundaries to discover what lies beyond.
The best way to learn is to start by being brave enough to follow your heart and not what others or society try to force your life to be.
Modern consumer culture is about as opposite to applied Taoist practice as a person can get. This creates a problem on how to apply Taoist principles to a typical Western lifestyle. Taoism as a practice is very much about how to live life to one's nature. When a culture actively pushes one against their personal nature, it also hinders the study of Taoism.
So an important aspect to studying Taoism is to understand: it's also a study of self acceptance. Typically people approach Taoism, or most philosophy / religion, as a means to seek larger truths. By the very end of a typically life long practice, a person usually lets go of their preconceived notions to discover acceptance. Taoism is a rare practice since in many aspects it focuses at the very start to teach self acceptance! To learn this early opens up Taoism in a new light and makes the overall process much more fun.
Living to acceptance is probably both the hardest and simplest thing to do. So my teaching helps people find answers when confronted with all the contradictions found in living in society as compared to living to one's heart.
