I was a friend and student of Paul Rosenfels, M.D. Paul was a Chicago-based philosopher and author who broke with psychoanalysis in the 1940's and developed his own ideas about human nature. In 1973, he and I founded The Ninth Street Center in New York City to teach his innovative insights to creative and independent men and women, many of whom have gone on to become teachers and leaders themselves. Slowly, more and more people around the world have heard about Paul and the Center's work and, since 1997, this larger Paul Rosenfels Community has been served by several internet websites, especially http://www.rosenfels.org.
The secret of happiness is to forget how to be unhappy.
A genuine education requires forgetting old falsehoods much more than learning new truths.
If you don't believe you can do something, you'll never find out whether you in fact could have.
Make uncertainty an ally. Learn to attain a state of grace within it. That's where human dignity lives.
The best way to reach me is to go to the Paul Rosenfels Community website for the latest contact instructions. If THAT doesn't work, google "Dean Hannotte" and hope that the world hasn't completely forgotten about me.
