Through Don's creativity, he has found that his writing and his music not only assist in his own healing, but also for those that are touched by his creative work. These moments of creation have come to help Don heal through his own journey and in the process have offered hope to others around the world.
Don Shetterly is also a Licensed Massage Therapist specilizing in the work of Somatosync. Somatosync incorporates the fundamentals of holistic body work, with a cutting edge form of trauma healing called Unified Therapy.
Through his own experience of child abuse trauma, anxiety and depression, Don understands what the body needs in order to heal and release these things from the past. In 1991, he experienced a Conversion Disorder which he has fully healed from the effects of it today.
Healing is not just about a momentary feel good technique, but connecting the mind and the cells of the body together, while going into the fear and rewiring the brain.
In 2010, Don Shetterly appeared as part of the Oprah 200 Male Survivor epsiode with Tyler Perry. February 2012, Don was a guest on the Dr. Drew show talking about his recovery through Conversion Disorder. He is the author of the book, Hope and Possiblity Through Trauma as well as an international recording artist of relaxing piano music.
