I earned a BBA from Pace University, a Journalism Certificate from New York University and my Series 7 license during my 20-year career on Wall Street. In 1999, I left my corporate position to start my own Professional Organizer Company in northern New Jersey. In 2004 I decided to expand my business and became certified by Interior Arrangements, Inc. in Interior Redesign & Real Estate Staging. In order to gain expertise in working with chronically disorganized clients, in 2005 I earned my Level 1 certification with the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization.
As a Residential and Commercial Professional Organizer, I work with my clients to develop a custom-tailored action plan to de-clutter and reorganize their homes and offices. I coach them on how to maintain their newly ordered systems and provide both onsite and telephone coaching. I also provide training for new Professional Organizers and business coaching for established Professional Organizers.
As a Certified Interior Redesigner, I use what people already have to create a designer look in their homes and offices. I study the architecture of the space and quickly strip a room and rebuild it using a proven 7-step process.
As a Certified Real Estate (or "Home") Stager, I take the seller's imprint off the house so that a larger audience can imagine themselves living there. Following the architecture of the space, I design each room with only what is meant to be there. The result is that the home looks fresh and inviting and has a "model home" look. Staging a home differentiates it from others in the same area and price range and tells buyers that you're serious about selling fast, and for top dollar.
Quick, Proven Tips for Organizing Your Life:
When organizing your closet, remove everything and determine what should really go back. Don't forget about unused vertical space and the back of the door for extra storage. Keep frequently used items toward the front of the closet and use the same type of hanger for consistency. Get rid of clothes that don't fit.
If your entire house is cluttered and you're feeling overwhelmed by the task of de-cluttering and reorganizing, start with your car first. After removing all unnecessary items and relocating them, wash the inside and outside to give yourself a fresh environment. You'll be more inspired to tackle the inside of your home after this.
Think seriously about your next purchase. Do you really need it? Is there room for it in your home? Are you willing to invest the time and money to care for it, repair it and possibly insure it? If not, then it's better left in the store.
Lastly, give yourself a break. When tasks become too large, you've got to break the project into smaller bits and factor a few minutes into each day until you've reached your goals. Remember, your home or office should not control you. You are the master of your time and space.
