Fuyiu Yip Quick Facts

Main Areas
Classical style of Acupuncture & Chinese Herbal Medicine specializing in supporting individuals with chronic symptoms & illnesses, "invisible illnesses," and those who experience a number of "mystery" symptoms. Each treatment is 90-minutes of face time, continued pulse diagnosis/assessment, insertion of needles as the body shifts in response, and time for discussion to ensure whole body understanding & comprehensive treatment.

Although Fuyiu Yip, L.Ac. was trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), she felt as if the truly individualistic piece of Chinese Medicine was missing. Why were patients with similar symtomatolgy receiving the same basic points with only a couple of extra points to "round out" the individual's disharmonies? As a result, she extended her practice into a more classical form called True Acupuncture as described by George Soulie de Morant, which was exactly what Fuyiu always thought acupuncture to be.

This classical style of Acupuncture involves extensive pulse diagnosis, resulting in a point by point study of an individual’s energetic responses to each needle - in other words, an understanding of how one needle affects the body before adding another. This, along with precise point location, yields maximum therapeutic results with minimal number of needles and treatments.

With this style, and with her own health journey, Fuyiu has restructured her practice to focus on working with individuals with chronic symptoms & illnesses, "invisible illnesses," and those who experience a number of "mystery" symptoms. Each treatment is 90-minutes of face time, continued pulse diagnosis, insertion of needles as the body shifts in response, and time for discussion. From this perspective, Fuyiu's clinic practice addresses the deeper connections of fatigue, nervous system dysregulation, allergies, skin conditions, insomnia/insufficient sleep, hormonal imbalance [(peri)-menopause, PMS, irregular cycles, etc], chronic and acute pain, digestive complaints, inflammation, autoimmune presentations, and much more.

Chinese Herbal Medicine is also a superb compliment to acupuncture, but only when necessary. Fuyiu's philosophy is to establish a clear understanding about a person’s energetic disharmonies via acupuncture first, without having the herbs interfere with the pulses. Once this is established, herbs can be added with great results.

After all, every individual health profile is unique and should be treated as such.

How to get started

The classical style of "True Acupuncture" ("le vrai acuponcture" as defined by George Soulie de Morant) is quite different from what most people experience in acupuncture treatments. It is about using detailed pulse diagnosis to truly understand the individual in his/her current state of health, and not about the application of theoretical protocols.
