Karen L. Harold is a Family Law Mediator and Conflict Resolution Specialist, also known as “The Conflict Coach”. She has over fifteen years of experience as a crisis intervention counselor, published writer, professional speaker, former law enforcement officer, mediator, and coach.
Karen helps people understand and benefit from handling conflict in a productive manner. As the Principle of Family Conflict Resolution Center and Conflict Coaching Company (www.familyresolutionctr.com / www.conflictcoachingco.com), she has dedicated her life’s work to creating and supporting personal peace and productive lives. Karen is a national trainer to patrol officers, training officers, social service providers, healthcare professionals and victim advocates.
She specializes in high conflict mediation and conflict resolution education involving divorcing families, parenting, and workplace disputes. Her courses are available for public and private organizations and group and are facilitated in person, telephonically, and online. She is a currently sought after resource for within the court system and a former consultant with LAPD and Department of Justice.
As an adjunct professor at California State University, Sacramento, Karen teaches graduate level courses in conflict resolution, negotiation and human resources. She has also been involved in design, planning, administration and presentation of workshops for leaders of non-governmental organizations, faith-based communities, academics, and professionals.
Karen’s undergraduate education is Communications with a minor in Television Production and her graduate certification is in Conflict Resolution, with emphasis on Family/Divorce and Workplace Mediation, and Conflict Analysis. She also received her basic POST certification from a regional law enforcement academy prior to becoming a law enforcement officer.
Ms. Harold is a member of the Association of Conflict Resolution, American Bar Association, International Coach Federation, National Anger Management Association, Association for Coaching Excellence, and American Counseling Association. She hosts a radio program, Unraveling Conflict with the focus of educating and encouraging listeners through a variety of issues revolving around personal and professional conflict. The theme and development of Ms. Harold’s career is to be a peacemaker.
