Lisa Nicholson, MS, L.Ac., QME, DNBAO, is a California Licensed Acupuncturist, Qualified Medical Evaluator (California Worker's Compensation system), Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (retired), and certified Kripalu Yoga teacher. She holds a BA in Psychology and an MS in Rehabilitation Counseling from the State University of New York at Albany, an MS in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, and post-graduate certification in Acupuncture Orthopedics from the National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedics. She has completed post-graduate training in treatment of hepatitis C with Oriental Medicine, studying under Misha Cohen, L.Ac., and Dr. Robert Gish, MD. She has completed additional continuing education in the field of functional blood chemistry and treatment of endocrinology and autoimmune conditions. Lisa is licensed by the state of California and certified in Oriental Medicine by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Lisa has been a health care provider since 1982, and is currently a board member for the National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedics. She serves as a subject matter expert for the Calfornia Department of Consumer Affairs Office of Examination Resources, participating in all aspects of the development of the California Acupuncture Licensing Exam.
