In 1985, after graduating DUX from the Metropolitan Business College with a shorthand speed of 120 words per minute, Lyn Prowse-Bishop was being encouraged into a life as a Court Reporter, but opted for 7½ years as, first, a Legal Secretary, and later as PA to a criminal lawyer in East Sydney. In 1993 she moved to Brisbane where she secured a job as Executive Assistant to the GM of the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. 6½ years later her entrepreneurial spirit took over and, motivated by the birth of her daughter, started a Virtual Assistant practice in February 2000 to utilise her skills in a home-based environment so that she could meet the dual needs of her growing family and those of a niche market of entrepreneurs requiring support services.

Now Executive Stress Office Support (eSOS) has clients in across Australia, in the UK, Singapore, Canada, and across the United States.

Australia’s first certified Master Virtual Assistant (MVA), an EthicsChecked VA, Accredited Secretary Online (ASO), Certified Australian Virtual Business (CAVB), VAcertified.com VA, Certified Professional Virtual Authors Assistant, 2007 Business Achiever’s Award winner for Professional Services, 2008 Australian Achiever Award-Highly Commended, and 2006 Thomas Leonard International VA of Distinction Award Nominee, Lyn is one of Queensland's most well known and respected virtual assistants. She is founder of the Australian Virtual Business Network, served as a foundation member for three years on the steering committee of, and regularly speaks at, the annual Online International Virtual Assistants Convention (http://www.oivac.com/), serves as Australian representative on international committees looking at standards and certification for the VA industry, and mentors new VAs, all while running her own busy and successful home-based VA practice.
