Monique MacKinnon nearly walked away from fees she was owed by a client abroad — nine months of unanswered calls and empty promises, with international law offering no real recourse at the time. She didn't walk away. Persistence, and a detail that pointed to an unexpected source of leverage, got her — and her speaking peers — paid in full. What surfaced from that experience, she developed into the Cue Ball Method: a systematic 5-step process for cutting through complexity to the next best move.
Monique has been a professional speaker since 2008. Since 2019, she has presented the Cue Ball Method to thousands of senior leaders across North America and the Middle East — CPAs, fraud examiners, forensic accountants, law enforcement, sport, and governance organizations — on investigative foresight, ethical decision-making, and negotiations.
She is a licensed Ontario private investigator conducting independent third-party misconduct investigations (abuse, harassment, discrimination), including as Safe Sport Officer for the BCHL, and adjudicates sport misconduct cases. She won the 2025 Corporate LiveWire Innovation & Excellence Award for ethical leadership and organizational transformation.
