Nelson Vergel is a chemical engineer (McGill) who has spent 40 years turning complex medical science into decisions men can act on. He writes from the same place his readers stand: a diagnosis, a lab result, a question no doctor fully answered.
Diagnosed with HIV in 1986 and later surviving cancer, he has been on TRT for over 37 years. What kept him thriving was a method he ran for 34 years: read the research, test what holds up in his own body, compare notes with hundreds of men doing the same, and publish what helps. He has personally used most of the treatments he writes about.
He founded the ExcelMale men's health community in 2012, along with other groups totaling 64,000+ members, and has served on NIH and FDA advisory panels. His books include Testosterone: A Man's Guide, Beyond Testosterone, The hCG Advantage, From Pills to Implants, and How to Read Your Blood Test Results.
Vergel writes for the man who wants to run his own health rather than outsource it.
