What Is self-confidence? Self-confidence is that inner self-belief that makes you know you can do something or handle a certain situation correctly without doubt. Self-confidence is the act of knowing that you don't lack any necessary skill in order to successfully complete a task. It could be anything from regrets, disappointment, a new task, friends’ pressure, public speaking etc. Without the presence of self-confidence, you can’t carry out these tasks successfully.
When someone lacks self-confidence he or she is more vulnerable to inferiority complex and this also tends to hinder many chances of better opportunities coming along in life. In order to meet up with these challenges and opportunities, you must first of all build your inner self-confidence before proceeding.
Since you now know what self-confidence is, the most obvious question should be how to build it, right? And this is what I am going to be talking in this article.
Step-by-step process on how to build self-confidence
By the time you must have gone through this article, you will noticed that building self-confidence is no more than knowing who you are and getting rid of false beliefs being held by your subconscious mind. Today i will center on the major things that weaken your self-confidence and on the other hand giving steps on how to eliminate them.
* Fear of public gathering: In schools, seminars, and public assemblies around the world, people have constantly strived to sit at the back of the room. Most people prefer the back because they’re afraid of being recognized or as a center of notice. You can easily identify these kind of people just by their actions. Some of them perform their actions unconsciously without knowing they are sending out massages to others that they are suffering from self-confidence. In order to break this habit, you have to make up your mind to always sit in front and be bold. By doing this you will not only get over this irrational fear belief system, but you will also start building strong sense of confidence for yourself as well.
* Make an effort to speak up: Some people have voluntarily decided to keep away from group discussion since most of them are held with false beliefs that people will surely make fun or false judgment of them. This fear isn't really justified since people are more accepted than disregarded. By making an effort to speak up at least once in every group discussion, little-by- little you will become a better public speaker tomorrow. More confident in your own beliefs, and be recognized as a better leader among your calibers.
* How you program others: Self-confidence does not necessarily mean we focus on ourselves thereby ignoring others. No! You have to consider the kind of contribution you’re making to the world. If it’s positive, it will increase your self-confidence and allows you to gain maximum efficiency of trust. The more you contribute to the world the more you’ll be rewarded with personal success and recognition.
* Your physical appearance: The way you feel about your physical fitness has a huge effect on your self-confidence. A research was carried out between two groups of people. The first group were both males and females who were well dressed and the second, still males and females but dressed normally. During the survey, it came out that those who were well dressed were more confident of their selves than the second group. In order to overcome this, you have to make an effort to dress decently, improve your physical appearance, energize yourself, accomplish something positive etc. Having the discipline will not only make you feel better, but it will also create a positive momentum that you can build for the rest of the day.
As you can see self-confidence is nothing more than getting rid of false beliefs and programing your mind for actions. This is just the two elements that when done, you will become tough. By applying the above steps, you will not only learn how to build self-confidence, but you will also learn how to stand difficult tasks in day-to-day life activities.
