I once heard a fascinating story in the name of a famous relationships counselor who talks on radio shows. It was claimed to be an authentic account of something that happened in real life, but even if it's apocryphal, I'm very much inclined to believe it could happen. A man decided to divorce ...
Responding to Change Keep your ship steady in choppy seas Change is an inevitable and necessary part of life. Even small changes can have a big impact, leading to feelings of anxiety and loss of control. Try these tips to help you stay happy during change. 1. Come home to your breathr Sounds so simple, doesn’t it? When everything is changing around you and the feelings of panic arise, returning to your breath will give you some solid ground. Place your hand on your lower belly and feel the breath drop deep. Focus on the flow of air in and out, and enjoy breathing mindfully.
As a military spouse your life is mainly characterized by uncertainty and periodic moves from place to place. While a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree gives you an edge and prepares you for the world of business, enrolling for a full-time program may not be an option for you. There is a very fruitful solution, though, and that is online MBA programs, which are designed for the people who cannot access conventional classes either due to distance or some other co
AGE-OLD ASIAN STORY There is a frequently told story with a moral that serves to shock us to rethink our priorities.
Globalization has made the world a smaller place, not just has helps people in cultural exchanging programs but with the advancement of technology the reach has been drastic now-a-day than was in earlier times. It has helps people to reach masses all over the world for business also. As the business is expanding at a very rapid phase, the source to reach locals have been tremendous in recent times with people hiring language translator to advertise or convert text the local l
All of the components of the engagement stance are important, but if you miss out on authenticity, you will have a hard time establishing credibility. When someone you speak with lacks authenticity, it feels manipulative, even if there is no evidence of manipulation.
There is a huge demand these days for Cisco CCNP Voice training and certification holders. There is a growing need of Voice over IP learned people in the IT industry, simply because the world has changed and companies are investing into new deployment of this technology. Cisco has developed and established a flagship professional level certification for those who are qualified in Cisco basic networking technology and aspired to gain higher credentials in voice technology, kno
We live in an interesting world, would you agree? Companies it seems, are rising and falling faster than ever before. Technology, globalization and the speed of communication has totally changed the workplace environment. Yet even in these fickle times, some companies and brands endure. More than that, they thrive and excel. They innovate and set the pace of change.
Our minds think in pictures. I'll prove it. Think about the BEST moment of your life thus far. Maybe it's the day you were hired into your current job. Maybe it's the day you graduated from college. Maybe it's the first time you held a newbo child. Maybe it was the day you got married. Maybe it was the day you got divorced (I'm not judging).
rnSpeaking American English is entirely different from knowing to speak that language. Many of us think that we are pretty good in speaking American English. But while interacting with American customers or while speaking in workplace, "American accent" becomes overwhelming.rnWhile surveying the college students, BPO job seekers & IT professionals for estimating the "American accent Speaking Ability", their response was appalling. They say,rnâIt is hard to connect body lang
I often get questions from people who are genuinely trying to figure out what to do in a relationship or in life. While I can give people examples of what other people have done to be successful, it is difficult to give people advice on what they should do. Each person will have their own way of arriving at a solution and a coach is there to help them arrive at whatever end they see fit. I encourage people to think in terms of finding their own solutions to tough issues. If you don't know what to do, spend some time thinking about the following points: 1. What would I name this issue?r
As my chapter in Total Leadership for Men and Women says, “We are the architects of our own lives. What are we building? How high do we want to go?” What are we creating on a daily basis?
With some people at work, you click from the beginning. They get you and you get them. Whatever you say, they know what you mean. Then the emails pile up. The ease with which we can write and send an email has led to difficulty for many in managing the flow of it. People have less time to deal with emails as the sheer volume increases. Getting anything more than the most basic connection with others through email is next to impossible. But here’s how to keep from losing that ‘click’ while using this technological tool.
If so many people agree that networking is more about the other person then why do so many people forget to check their ego at the door? It is disconcerting and sometimes downright irritating to talk with someone who uses a dozen “Is” in the first few minutes. Over and over again, no matter the event, you hear “I” am doing this, “I” am enjoying this success, here’s what “I” did when that happened to me. And for good measure, they throw in a few “my” book is outselling others in its genre, and “my” workshop was such a big hit.
Recently in a furniture store, I observed a sales-clerk (Let’s call him Harry) and a customer (Lets call her Lisa) entangled in a vicious verbal sparring match over a lamp Lisa had purchased. “Maybe it didn’t happen in the store” Harry said. “Of course it did. When I went home I opened the ...Recently in a furniture store, I observed a sales-clerk (Let’s call him Harry) and a customer (Lets call her Lisa) entangled in a vicious verbal sparring match over a lamp Lisa had purchased. “Maybe it didn’t happen in the store” Harry said.
Has your foot been on the brake? If so, it's time to take your foot off the brake and get back behind the wheel of your life. Proclaim, “I will not stop my journey too soon. It’s time to get out and overcome every obstacle in my way!” Here are eight steps that you can take:
You may already be familiar with the term, “sound bite:” A sound bite is a phrase that can be pulled intact from an original broadcast and re-used in another venue. So what is the value of a good sound bite? Let’s assume that a good sound bite is about 30 seconds long. We know that 30 seconds can still give you time to get your message across, or at least peak curiosity; think of the best “elevator speech” or mini commercial that you may use in a networking atmosphere.
For many years my parents subscribed to Reader’s Digest. Usually I enjoyed reading each issue as much as they did. The segment I liked most was a feature called “The Best Advice I Ever Had.” Even today, one of those best advice stories sticks with me and remains a great lesson. Writing about his boyhood, Harry Emerson Fosdick—longtime beloved minister of Riverside Church in New York City—recalled a morning when his father was leaving the house. He turned to Harry’s mother and said: “Tell Harry he can cut the grass today, if he feels like it.”

Guest appearances and stage presentations are to excellent ways to elevate your brand, increasing recognition and trust thus creating the possibilities for increased revenue for your business!
Did you know that tone of voice and non-verbalnlanguage are more important than words in conveyingnmeaning in communication? We spend so much timenfiguring out what we’re going to say that we oftennforget that our facial expressions, gestures andnvoice tones are speaking volumes. You can say, “French fries,” enthusiastically, nangrily or disgustingly and have those words conveynvery different meanings. Accompanying gestures addneven more meaning to your words. A good vocabul
I worked with a group recently that was extremely polite with one another. I'm not just talking about the normal courteous behavior. I'm talking about over-the-top, almost painful levels of politeness. There was absolutely no interrupting, no challenges to anything anyone would say, and polite smiles plastered on everyone's faces at all times. Now this may sound like utopia to some, but I found it extraordinarily uncomfortable. It signaled to me a complete unwillingness to engage in any real way with one another.
With so many people out of work these days, there may be dozens if not hundreds of people applying for the job you want, need and deserve. And because there are so many job seekers for every available position, an increasingly important aspect of the weeding out process is “the dreaded ...
Try an experiment. Start a conversation on any topic with your spouse or best friend. After you’ve been talking together for a few minutes, interject with something along the lines of: “Hey, what are you talking about? You’re a real idiot!” Next, hasten to explain to your partner that of ...
MONKEY BUSINESS Monkeys may be able to do it but can humans? And that is to see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil. Can you hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil? GROWING UP WITH THREE MONKEYS Three little monkeys in the form of a small ornament took pride of place in the living room of my grandmother. For all of my growing-up years, I was fascinated by it and studied it for hours and hours during the first two decades of my life. Indelibly imprinted on my mind, I was equally fascinated by the symbol it stands for. ASIAN ORIGINr
WEB WARS Robert the Bruce was fighting for the independence of Scotland against the English, but he lost a battle and was hiding in a cave. He was downtrodden and perhaps even contemplating that everything was hopeless. He was not alone in that cave. A spider was his companion and he watched with wonder as the spider spun his web. The spider tried many times to create his web but never gave up. A SPIDER NEVER GIVES UP SO WHY SHOULD YOU If a spider never gives up, why should Robert the Bruce, so he resolved to fight again. Our spider was both patient and persistent.
You will find numerous cell phone challengers which use dual-core technology available in the modern world like LG Optimus 2X, the HTC Sensation and also the iPhone 5, however Samsung has set the bar high using the launch from the Samsung Galaxy S2 cell phone. This phone doesn't have metal casing like its rivals but consists of simple plastic casing that causes it to be lighter hence easily portable. This situation fits tightly in to the geometry from the phone. The Samsung G
Everyone knows one of THOSE PEOPLE; someone whose language patterns are so negative that you wonder if anyone can help them out of their “self-imposed messes” that they have created. I get those too, not a lot of them, but occasionally. I have a client that for a while now; I’ve been attempting to help with their present issues without much movement one way or another. Generally, my solution when I encounter people or clients like that is LET THEM GO. I figure that whatever
Are you one of the 25 to 50 per cent of people reporting feeling overwhelmed or burned out at work? Do you find you are working for more hours than the dollars you earn and end up like a circus performer trying to keep all your spinning plates in the air at once?
No, this is not a rehash of primary-school grammar; nor is it a discourse on the finer points of rhetoric! There are some practical points which can make a powerfulndifference in the efficacy of your communication -- whether on the job, with your spouse or when you are among friends. What is "good communication?" Much of what passes fornconversation is a play with two performers, each impatiently waiting for the other to finish so they can declaim the lines they've been reh
Recently I registered for a run called the Tough Mudder, billed as the “Toughest One Day Run on the Planet.” It is 10 miles, includes 18 obstacles and is modeled after British Special Forces training. The average completion time is reportedly 2 ½ hours. In sharing this with a friend he said “I’m not ready for that!” Hey- I’m not ready for it either- that’s why we train! What’s the hardest aspect of completing a marathon, a triathlon, or a Tough Mudder Run? If you have ever completed one, you already know.
by Jeff Davidson The research is in, and homo sapiens are definitely more adept at tackling big challenges earlier in the day than later. Peak energy and alertness for most people is at 8 a.m. This is not to say you can’t be effective handling large tasks later in the day, and sometimes you have no choice but to do so. The long-term odds of success, however, are with you when you make a note of handling the day’s biggest challenge as early as you can, perhaps as the very first thing.
Thanks Jeffrey Mitchell for being the impetus for this two-part article on how to join a conversation politely that is continued on my blog, www.lilliancommunicates.com. Jeffrey, admissions advisor at DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management and a loyal sponsor of my Greater Chicago Networking Extravaganza, posted his article, “What are the most annoying things people can do at networking events?” on my Greater Chicago Networking LinkedIn Group. As people responded with their irritations, variations of one came to the forefront:r
Salary negotiation is an important career skill. The better you can negotiate with your employer how much you earn, the more financially rewarding your career will be at any stage. Employees who are good salary negotiators frequently out-ea their colleagues with similar skills and experience significantly, simply because they can negotiate their pay skillfully.

“Can you recommend some CD’s on hypnosis that I can listen to, because I want to be smarter?” Alan asked me (name changed to protect the so-called innocent). I've never been asked this before, not until now. It’s not for me to pass judgment on any inquiries. No matter how unique they may be. For we want what we want in order to satisfy values, intentions, needs, wants or desires.

One afte oon, the small knob on my dashboard, which controls the direction of air flow in my car, fell off while I was driving. At the end of my trip, I searched for the item, but it was nowhere to be found. I searched two other times with a flashlight, and it was all to no avail. Fortunately, the position of the knob when it fell off was set for air to be circulated high and low. In other words, when I put on the car heater, warm air currents were directed at my head and at my feet.

Sometimes I will find wonderful material using their company fields to make use of during my space of business coaching, management and individual development. Once I find a gem which can be applicable, I enjoy change the thinking somewhat to adjust to plus it is great for how to improve communications skills. There is certainly one chapter inside Kathleen Panula Hockey's book, "Raising Depression Free Children" dedicated to describe five specific critical thinking skills th
There are quite a few people out there looking for congeniality. There are those who pursuance for human beings who share there same code of morals, values and self interest. So here it is!!
