When your vision and your dreams are big - surely, they are big, right? no point, in playing a small game...) - at some point you are going to ask yourself, "Exactly how do I do this?" Of course you can achieve your dreams. But sometimes they are so big, you do not know what to do. Or maybe you know what to do but you are not sure where to start. One of the answers is that you are going to make a pretty huge "To Do" list.

One of my tango instructors once told me that there are basically five simple step to tango: forward, side, backwards, cross, and ochos. If you can do these five steps well, you can dance with anyone. I am by no means the best tango dancer, not even close. But I do know that many women have enjoyed dancing with me. It's not because I knew a lot of tricks, I don't. It's because I did what I knew very well.
Comfort? Joy? For some, these words seem foreign, a distant memory in the past, or something they may have in the future as if it's not possible to feel that way now. With all that has been occurring in the states and in the world, as well as what you might be enduring personally, consolation may seem very far away. Are you able to create comfort and joy in your life? How about when the going gets tough, or you are met with unfair unexpected situations or news, or you feel overwhelmed or stressed? Do you remember to take care of you?
I remember when my first spiritual teacher told me that love was the most important thing there was, that it could transcend and heal all things. I thought he was crazy, not the love I was familiar with. The love that I knew was learned from those perfect families on TV and any of that I received from my family came at too high a cost. So if that was what I needed to heal I’d rather stay broken. Little did I know how wrong that I was!r
Do you think that your genetic blueprint is your destiny? I am fascinated by the “new science” called epigenetics (above the genes). Research is proving that gene expression, not necessarily your genetic blueprint, dictates your state of health. Why is this important to you?
When we are faced with personal and/or professional challenges, it can be difficult not to jump to the “what if’s” of the future or relive the “should have’s” of the past. When you focus on being here and now, you are living by the invitation of what each moment has to offer. Some people feel being present is passive and that they won’t accomplish anything. They think they will lose the desire to act upon things, or make critical decisions, or not know what choice to make, etc.
We all experience setbacks or glitches along our sacred jou eys. It is how we view and handle them that realigns us, or set us off balance. Each obstacle we encounter is an opportunity for us to learn, grow and expand even if it doesn’t seem that way at the time. When setbacks occur in our relationships, jobs, health, well being, or a combination of these, it can be a challenge to see there are possibilities hiding in these very problems. They can leave us feeling frustrated, stressed, anxious, sad, depressed, alone, angry and perhaps second guessing ourselves.
A few years ago there was a person on one of the social network sites I play around on and contribute to. She asked for my help on a personal issue, and I gave her some guidance that seemed to be really helpful. It felt good. I was in flow. I was providing this wonderful service to someone ...

Marianne Williamson’s “Our Greatest Fear” provides this powerful reminder: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.r
I was out for dinner with a friend a while ago and she asked me several interesting questions: • “Why are relationships one of the most difficult experience there is?” • “Why do we have such deep, innate desire to seek romantic relationships or loving partners?” • “Why is it that at some ...
A few years ago, I discovered that I was about twenty pounds overweight. Being who I am, I researched everything there is about nutrition and fitness. Then I made the decision of eliminating one artificial ingredient from my diet: high fructose corn syrup. I didn't realize just how many foods included high fructose corn syrup, so it ended up being a bigger change tha I originally thought. Within one month, without making any changes to my fitness, I lost five pounds! Eventually I achieved my ideal weight. And I all did was eliminate one ingredient.

In this post I'm going to talk about success. Success means different things to different people. One of the definitions for success in Dictionary.com is: The attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like. This definition is okay in as far as it goes, but we all know that being successful is not just related to the attainment of wealth, position, honors, who we know or where we go.
When you say, "Today I will…", can you feel the promise and possibility in these words? There is an openness to them. A chance to start anew. An opportunity to fine-tune the way you are doing things or to do more of what is working well in your life. These words can offer insights, creativity, promise, hope, excitement, love, peace, understanding, compassion, forgiveness, friendship, prosperity, and a second chance. When you begin your day with affirmations of intentions and positivity, it is a reminder that you are responsible for upholding and seeing them through the best you can.r

There is a secret in life and in business that you may not be aware of. It is the biggest one, the one that, without your uncovering it, will stand in your way on the path to success. Here it is: Where you are today in your life and in your business is a direct result of only one person - and that person is you. Where you are today is a direct reflection of the words, the decisions, the thoughts and the actions that you took days, months and years ago. In other words, your results are directly your responsibility.
Whether we are raising children, working in a job, running a business, or retired, we cannot escape the fast pace, stress induced life that surrounds us. Life has lost its simplicity: I need three to five gadgets to work my TV; it takes six steps to download an ebook from the library; and I still do not know how to use my new cell phone. When we add busy schedules, medical appointments, whole food preparation, commuter traffic, and multi-tasking, we are off to the races. This kind of stressful lifestyle plays havoc on our health, sleep, well-being, relationships and soul.
There have been many books written over the years on the topic of success and abundant living; many more than can be reasonably counted. And the future is sure to see many, many additional books of the same genre. As long as the human race continues to persist, there will always remain a demand ...
The following golden nuggets of wisdom are based on the lessons I have learned while working on myself and working with others. As we live these “truisms,” we are moving toward optimal health for the mind, body and soul. The overall quality of our lives and relationships will also improve. I hear myself thinking and saying these “truisms” often. They have served me well, and I share them with you in this article. Where your mind goes; your energy flows.
In last week’s newsletter I talked about receiving feedback and the importance of doing so. You have now mustered up the courage to ask and listen to the points of view from others on how you are doing and you’re feeling pretty good about yourself. You are beginning to shift and transform some of those old mindsets and patterns that were keeping you stuck from growing and expanding, as well as giving others feedback, and it seems like the only one who is doing any changing is you, now what?
The title seems almost contradictory, doesn't it? An article on how to let success just happen? How do we let success happen? How does this work? Especially when we have been thoroughly indoctrinated into having to work, stress out, and make things happen, or they just won't happen, now will they? Let me explain. Yes, there are many, many, things to do on the road of success. And one of those things might just be to let it happen! A success that can only be defined by you, for you, and you alone.
There are all kinds of transiton in life - some we think of as positive and some we think of as negative. The positive kind - like getting married, having a baby, moving into our dream house - can be a mixture of delight and dread, stress-inducing and thrilling at the same time. And usually, we don't have to be too coerced to jump onto those rollercoasters because the ride is just so darn appealing! There are other kinds of transition in life. The kind we usually think of as
The entangled threads of my own thoughts tug at notions of women and leadership; women and breast cancer; the need women seem to have to apologize when not agreeing or finding something lacking; food and its stranglehold on women and their bodies; and last, but most definitely not least, women and men. Were these neatly laid out in some pattern or framework, it would be much easier for me to collect my thoughts, one leading nicely to the next, formed in reason and supported by an obvious logic…..but such is not the case.
I got a vision today of the concept of clairvoyance, or clear vision. Most people see this as someone who peers into the future, tells you the winning lottery numbers, and predicts the date and time of your death. No doubt there are some people who have this kind of talent (gift may not be the ...
Reflect on this and see if whether or not you think it’s true: The thing that has the biggest effect on you and your life experience is you. I say this because no matter what situation is presented to you, you have the power to look at said situation in any manner you please. This is the power of freewill. It is the power to choose your own understanding, the power to choose your own vantage point. From your particular vantage point of life you see only that which you w
Beliefs are one of THE most important and most misunderstood. aspects of your Internal Map of Reality. You probably think you already know what you believe. There are beliefs hidden in the subconscious part of your "critical mind" that can wreak havoc in your life if they go unchecked.
As we embark on the holidays this year, it is a happy time of the year for many of us. We celebrate the themes peace on Earth, goodwill to men, generosity, kindness and compassion. For most of us that means giving gifts to our friends and family, the camaraderie of the office Christmas party, ...
Technology transfer and licensing are integral to business creation and growth in the US. The push is on in the US to create more jobs, and largely through creating new companies, and expanding small-to-madcap businesses, especially those whose classic markets, such as services, are in upheaval as evidenced in the Federal Government services contractor community. Historically, small businesses hire more people than large businesses. With so many new technologies available for
When there is a heavy rainstorm, the next day the rivers are muddy. Likewise when high frequency energy has gone through your body, the old gets stirred up and released. In the release, the emotions can and may surface along with all the old debris. Allow all your emotions to come out. ...
Women talk. It’s what we do. It’s also one of the things we do best. We come together in small clusters and we talk about the things that matter to us. We talk about the people we care about. We talk about our dreams and the things that get in the way. We talk about what we love and what we ...
I've been writing a series called Playing with Language where I look at the origins and energies of specific words. Words carry and convey these hidden meanings and energies so it is a good idea to know what you are actually saying. (You can find more words on my Blog). The most recent word is Shame. 1. The painful feeling arising from the consciousness of something dishonorable, improper, ridiculous, etc., done by oneself or another: 2. Disgrace; ignominy: His actions brought shame upon his parents.
Life can throw us to and fro sometimes, can't it? We never know what might transpire during our day. You can set your intentions on how you would like things to unfold and sometimes they work out perfectly or at least close to how you had intended. Other times you are blindsided by something you were not expecting and it turns your day into one you want to run away from or pull the covers up over your head and hope it goes away. Or perhaps what has happened is down right frightening, devastating, or disastrous.
During the past few months, I have been surrounded by death: a relative, a friend and two acquaintances. While feeling sad for those who have died and those who are left to grieve, I also had a realization: The dying process is a time to let go, whether we want to or not. With commitment, courage and acceptance, we are able to face death, let go and allow grace to carry us forward. If we resist the inevitable, we can get stuck in negative emotions, conflict and inner turmoil.
Couch yoga is an important part of the transformation process. Changing the cells requires vast amounts of energy and the body needs time to adjust to the new higher frequencies. Couch yoga is not lying there moaning and swigging on a cold beer watching TV, that’s couch potato. Couch yoga ...
Often the question is asked of me, "Where does your inspiration come from?" This question suggests that our own inspiration is held within some exte al place, and if we were able to just finally reach there, then maybe the miraculous floodgates of inspired action would then deluge our lives with all the things that we desire. The question also suggests that there might be some exte al force, such as a muse, that then could, upon our meeting that muse, inspire us to action in our chosen field of endeavor, creating masterpiece after masterpiece of success.
I found a wonderful little trick to change the way I see other people. Along the way, I found the person it had changed the most was myself. Here's how it started: My wife and I were talking about how everyone has a spark of the Divine in them, no matter what path they may have chosen in ...
It's 9:00 am on Saturday. I'm taking a few minutes and putting fingers to keyboard and eyes on the screen. Then I'm going out and enjoying a marvelous combination of beautiful weather and material abundance. The weather was created by nature. The abundance was created by all of us (with nature ...
In 2004, Time Magazine featured an article, “The Secret Killer.” Today, the role inflammation plays in the disease process continues to be ignored by many, including the conventional medical community. I was forced to learn about this silent killer with a cancer diagnosis 15 years ago, and it is a lesso I hope you will never have to learn. A small amount of knowledge on the subject can go a long way in treating and preventing many diseases.
We take ourselves seriously all time, but in misaligned directions away from our success. A misaligned direction is any one that leads away from our success, and toward our upset. Any energy other than that which is devoted toward our being successful, is misaligned energy. And misaligned energy cannot be used for getting us what we want, if what we want is success! Let's start at the beginning.
When you manage your time wisely, there is quality time left for you. It’s like carving a piece of time out of the pie of life especially for you because you deserve it. When you make the time for you, you are less stressed and therefore a kinder and happier person because you are renewing yourself. You become more creative and inspired and therefore you are more productive which then equals even more time for you. That’s a win-win situation, don’t you think? Before long you are re-arranging your days so that you become a top priority.
In our human knowledge base it is a proverb that what it takes to accomplish any goal is to be committed to that accomplishment. This wisdom is spoken by mountain climbers, sports figures, all great moms and dads, joyful partners, successful CEOs, inventors, great writers, the list of achievers is endless, and their commitments are clear. Their commitments are so clear because their results match up with what they are committed to.
