The emphasis of the LWAA For Survivors Of Addictions eGroup (formerly livingwithanalcoholic eGroup) on Yahoo groups had always been dedicated to personal recovery however some members did not understand this and just used the forum as a platform to share their pain and frustration and complain about their partners and their own lives. Not working to change per se, but rather just venting to get all their misery off of their chests.
After over 7 years and over 8760 message posts I decided to change the format of the group and give it it’s current name. This was done in part to put the emphasis on the aspects of personal and financial recovery post addiction rather than on providing a means to vent and complain about staying stuck. It is a forum that has a multidimensional aspect and approach to recovery that not only deals with aspects of personal emotional recovery but also on the practical aspects of financial recovery as well while actually providing a means to accomplish this!
