Before we start to tell you about the brain facts that everyone should know about, we have a brief introduction on the human brain. Our brain is a very important organ in our body, holding so much power within itself that even we are unaware of. Scientists have made accomplishments and found some facts about the brain that have surprised so many of us, but the study of the brain has yet to be completed and we still have a long way to go in fully understand this amazing organ.

There are certain brain facts that everyone should be aware of and that are as surprising as they sound. We have come up with 3 main facts that all of us should know so that we can understand what kind of an organ our brain is and how powerful it can be.

1. Even though the brain is not the largest organ in your body, it consumes about 20% of the energy that is generated within your body. This organ has a weight of 2% as compared to your body weight but its energy consumption is incredibly significant. An elephant's brain is about 6 times larger than the human brain but its energy consumption is a mere 0.15% of its energy being produced in the body. The human brain is so small and so light in weight that your skin actually will weigh more than your brain. But the fact that is one of the major energy consumers in our body shows us how powerful it really can be. At the same time, when we know this fact we also learn how important it is to give our brain some amount of ample rest since it is something that works so much and consumes so much energy needs time to gather itself as well.

2. Your brain is also capable of making power too. When you are awake during the day, scientists have found that you can create up to 25 watts of power. With this kind of power generation, you can light a bulb! At the same time, a person has around 70,000 thoughts in one day. The brain has such a large capacity that it is able to generate so many thoughts in a single day. The amount of electrical impulses that a single human brain can generate is even more, that is all the telephones in the world!

3. Your brain is actually 75% water. An average human being has about a 100 billion brain cells. And every minute about 100,000 miles of blood vessels carry blood equivalent to 3 cans of soda to your brain. An organ which has that much blood flowing to and fro make us realized that it is a very important organ of our body.

The human brain is not only an organ that is used for keeping you alive. It's an organ which has your memories stored and an organ which makes you who you are in terms of your personality and the way you think. These brain facts are important for everyone to know so that they understand what a precious organ the brain is!
