When you combine the clinical findings of Applied Kinesiology, the expertise of western medicine, the energy dynamics of acupuncture and the wisdom of modern physics and advanced mathematics, what do you get? The BodyTalk System, one of the current fastest growing holistic healthcare systems in the world! Why are we sick? The body doesn’t have enough blood to nourish every tissue with every heartbeat; it can only send blood to 25% of the body at a time. So the nervous system sets priorities based on perceived needs. Stress, such as an injury, severe illness, emotional trauma, financial stress, overwork, poor nutrition, will distort the nervous systems’ ability to do this. The nervous system responds to any emergency by activating fight/flight mode. In emergency mode: heart rate and blood pressure increase (sends blood to places like muscular system so body can run if chased), digestive system shuts down, immune function is limited, muscles tighten, and endocrine function is distorted. This is a healthy response, at first... we would need this if we were being chased by a cheetah. However, our stressors are much different today ie. Traffic jams, tripping over the toys, waiting in line at the grocery store; but our bodies still enter that same mode. We don’t relax because we are under constant stress or “why me” mode or the “there should be a law against” mode, which relives the stress. This prevents the body from healing itself, leading to: digestive diseases, immune diseases, high blood pressure, muscular tensions, cardiovascular disease, mood disorders, menstrual problems, degenerative disorders, etc. How Does BodyTalk Work? BodyTalk is a way of helping the body recover from stress. BodyTalk uses the latest information from clinical studies to help reset the nervous system. BodyTalk helps to bring nervous system out of emergency mode so that natural healing processes can resume. BodyTalk uses light hand contact and very gentle tapping. Tapping on the head activates the surface electrical field of the body, to help the bodymind start to better work as a unified team which in turn helps the nervous system to better do its job of communicating within the body. This can make the difference between dial-up internet and high speed internet, for your body! BodyTalk is the first modality to use the research, showing how the surface electrical field affects the internal physiology, in a scientific way. In clinical practice, BodyTalk has many specific techniques to restore a healthy nervous system balance and to help the body determine what parts require what resources. Therefore, when body talks to itself, it can heal itself. What Can BodyTalk Do For You and Your Animals? nAnimals generally have a natural and strong desire to be healthy and well, but domesticated species are easily affected by the stresses of living in human environments. AnimalTalk (BodyTalk for animals) sessions complement your animal’s current veterinary care by accelerating physical healing plus alleviating issues such as stress, fear, separation anxiety and undesirable behaviors. Because the BodyTalk System allows us to explore and balance the physical, emotional and environmental experiences of the animal, positive shifts in behaviour are commonly observed after an AnimalTalk session, as the animal experiences increased well-being. AnimalTalk offers a unique approach to animal health and well-being by involving the owner, or entire family, in the sessions. The bonds between humans and the animals with whom they cohabitate are tremendous. Many animals take on physical, emotional and energetic stresses of their human companions. AnimalTalk sessions offer a unique experience in which the connection between you and your companion is acknowledged and honoured. While the session will focus on the animal, many people report feeling a sense of well-being in them, as well, after an AnimalTalk session. How Can I Find Out More?
