Congestive heart failure, or CHF, is among the most common chronic health conditions in the United States. Almost five million individuals cope with this disease, and 500,000 others are diagnosed with CHF every year. This illness can be slightly problematic, or it can become disabling and interfere with daily living.

Individuals with CHF have numerous changes from their usual daily routines. They must take medications to decrease fluid accumulation and to decrease the exertion of their heart tissue. Many of these result in anxiety and fatigue. These medications can also impair physical relationships with a life partner.

Another problem that individuals with CHF encounter is the requirement for significant diet changes. Many must stop eating red meat, avoid meals with a lot of fats or salt, or limit the quantity of liquids they consume every day. They are instructed to lose weight and exercise to keep their bodies as fit as possible.

Unfortunately, however, individuals with congestive heart failure do not have as much physical endurance as before. Rather, they must stand by while friends and relatives play tennis, swim, or work out. This results in isolation and loneliness. Furthermore, many victims grieve losing of physical health and wellness.

Many patients who experience this but have not yet reached retirement age also have to stop working. In addition to causing money problems and depression, this can increase feelings of isolation and loneliness. They find themselves alone. Instead of chatting with the colleague at the neighboring workspace, they watch the television while their friends continue living.

Occasionally, people take depression or anxiety medications to deal with these issues. Others opt for counseling or group treatment to assist them with fulfilling socialization needs and working through the mourning created through their newly restricted lifestyles.

A healthier method of dealing with this kind of depression, however, has achieved recent recognition and gained practically instant approval with clients who have trialed it. Additionally, unlike medications or counseling therapies, this technique is quite economical. People are able to learn to use it without experiencing additional financial hardship.

This technique, which utilizes a combination of Ericksonian hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), assists people to learn to become calm and find harmony and tranquility in the midst of daily life. These strategies help individuals to acknowledge the new restrictions in their lives while instructing them to continue living life as completely as possible. Even depression that results from medicines can be painlessly treated with the successful application of the techniques utilized by hypnosis and NLP. Two of these strategies are anchoring and the Flash.

Ericksonian Hypnosis is often known as conversational hypnosis. It includes techniques for providing post-hypnotic ideas rooted in a discussion or metaphor. The positive aspect of this method is that it eliminates the subconscious opposition to direct suggestions that is nearly always encountered when using more traditional styles of hypnosis.

Through anchoring, hypnotists and NLP Practitioners teach people to concentrate on happy thoughts and situations from the past in which they felt calm and in control. As the individual is progressively absorbed by these recollections, they are able to experience these emotions once more. The individual then learns to make a physical anchor for these feelings by placing two fingers together. The subconscious mind makes a link between the physical touch of these two fingers, and the good feelings. Afterward, when the client encounters a stressful or upsetting situation, an anchor is triggered through placing together these same two fingers, evoking emotions of peacefulness and calm.

The Flash method is also quite helpful to individuals who are working to conquer depression. The Flash technique programs the mind to instantaneously utilize the destructive thoughts that are causing anxiety and sadness, as triggers for beneficial thoughts that stimulate calm and happiness. Over time, clients usually find themselves nearly unable to think negative thoughts!

Summary: Individuals with congestive heart failure often experience sadness because of mourning over decline of their physical health and well-being. Other factors that can help cause depression include medicines and financial stresses. Both Ericksonian Hypnosis and NLP provide superior techniques for assisting people to manage sadness without having to put forth enormous quantities of time and money.
