Here are 8 simple tips to ensure your contacts have the best possible chance of avoiding any contamination.nn- Hygiene issues can arise if you ignore washing your hands before handling your contacts. In fact, it's the same as handling food after visiting the bathroom; don't wash your hands and you run the risk of possible infection.nn- Applying a coat of saliva to diving goggles may be practical but don't get contacts confused with goggles. Avoid using saliva to clean them.nn- Always clean your contact lenses after removing them.nn- More importantly, only use appropriate contact solution to clean them. You are risking complications by using uncertified contact lens solution.nn- If your solution expiration date is used don't tempt fate and continue using it. There is a good reason why a use by date has been put on the container and you are only risking unnecessary complication by flirting with the expired solution.nn- Your contact lens case should be well maintained and that includes cleaning it on a regular basis. Even more importantly, don't close it immediately after cleaning because some dampness can be retained. nn- For good hygiene practice purposes, your case should be replace every 8-10 weeks.nn- Be careful not to allow foreign objects or substances come into contact with your lenses.
