DEWS-A simple, positive approach to weight control
Written by Peggy Mahar
Although some folks are still searching for a magical pill or miracle diet to shed their extra weight, most of us now know that the healthy way to drop our excess pounds is by eating sensibly and exercising regularly. There are innumerable books, articles and websites dedicated to this subject and everyone should be able to find effective eating and exercising strategies to complement their distinctive personalities. Upon initiating a weight loss program however, one needs to understand that success lies in the long term - not just a quick fix, but a complete change of lifestyle.
With many failed weight loss attempts under my belt (pun intended), I've determined that the most productive way of managing a lifelong behavior is one day at a time. So I've created and successfully implemented a plan based on the four basic daily actions I found necessary for healthy weight loss. I've designated them with the acronym DEWS. Each day that I do these four things for myself is recorded as a success in itself, strengthening my self-confidence and purpose. DEWS also has some built-in leeway for discretionary human weakness, because even at 85% compliance, success is realized.
I encourage everyone with a weight loss challenge to visit my website and take advantage of my straightforward approach to a healthier, happier life.
