I often come across people in the gym who have not changed their exercise program for the last 6-12 months and are wondering why they are not losing any body fat.

If you are eating the same foods and performing the same exercise routines week in week out and not noticing any decrease in body fat. You may well have hit a plateau.

Below are 5 different steps you can take in order for you to keep losing body fat.

1. Decrease your calories. Remember to continue losing body fat you must be in a negative energy balance (Input < Output). You must eat a little less then you are burning to lose body fat. However remember not to decrease your calories too much as it will slow down your metabolism.

2. Change your food choices. From processed to whole raw foods. From full fat meats to leaner cut meats. From full fat dairy products to lower fat alternatives.

3. You may want to decrease your portion sizes per meal.

4. You may want to increase the frequency of your meals that you eat to speed up your metabolism. You may only eat 4 small meals a day, try to get the 5th meal, it will raise your metabolism.

5. You could change your exercise routine by manipulating your cardio (frequency, intensity, type and time) or changing your resistance training variables (sets, reps, rest, load, and tempo).nnn
Good luck and remember you can not expect to do the same thing over and over and expect to see NEW RESULTS!
