How Do We Pray
Written by Michele Blood
How do we pray? Let us begin by speaking about prayer for someone you love. How does that sound?
And if, in this moment, you cannot think of someone you love, then think of the neighbour you have never met. Ideally, the first time you consciously pray for another person, choose someone you respect and genuinely like. It is easier to open your heart that way. Then, when you later pray for someone you find more challenging, you will already be in the flow of compassion.
You may write down their name. If you do not know their name, simply picture them as a being of Light.
There is one thing we must never do when we pray, we must never feel as though we are helping someone, and we must never feel sorry for someone. Never, ever.
Why?
Because the moment you feel sorry for someone, you subtly place yourself above them, as though you are the Divine and they are somehow beneath you.
“Oh, look at those poor souls. I feel sorry for them.” No. That places you in duality, in ego, in judgement. You may hear people say, “Oh, I feel so sorry for them. Such a pity.” It sounds compassionate, but it is not compassion. It is pity. And pity diminishes. Compassion uplifts. Pity separates. You must feel compassion, but never pity. Because when you feel sorry for someone, you are actually reinforcing the very condition you believe you are responding to. You are silently affirming, “They are poor,” or, “They are sick,” or, “They are broken.” And remember, whatever we consistently think about is being created at some level. If you feel sorry for someone, you are keeping them in that box. Please understand how important this is.
We do not feel sorry for others. And we do not feel sorry for ourselves. Self-pity creates more circumstances that justify self-pity. “Oh, I feel bad because I didn’t do what I said I would do.” No. Be present. Be in the now. If you did not do it earlier, do it now. Do not postpone your integrity. When you act immediately, you strengthen your self-respect. And that matters.
This is an important part of prayer, you recognise that you are not the doer. The Divine works through your loving intention. Through your open heart. Through your willingness to see truth. After we pray, we keep our mind still.
When praying for others, you do not need to focus on what you believe they lack. You do not need to analyse their situation or determine what they “should” have. Simply see them happy.
Visualising someone happy is one of the most powerful prayers you can offer.
If you see a homeless person, and it is safe to do so, offer them some money. I always recommend keeping a little cash on hand for this reason. But if you cannot give at that moment, then give in consciousness. As you pass by, you might say quietly, “That person is 100% God-governed. They are looked after. I see them happy. I see them sober. I see them healthy.”
You do not need to know who they are or how they arrived at that point in their life. That would be judgement. Instead, affirm, “I see you happy. I see you healthy. Whatever is required for your health, happiness, and wellbeing, I give thanks that you have it. The Divine Presence has gone before you and prepared the way.” This is true prayer.
You are not fixing. You are not rescuing. You are recognising the Divine already at work. And that changes everything.
Please remember: they are a Diamond. Even if that Diamond appears temporarily coated, even if they are unwell from war or from whatever life has placed before them, their current condition is not an invitation for you to feel sorry for them.
Feel compassion for anyone who is suffering. And then see them happy. See them healthy. Because if you do not, it is not a true prayer. And we are here to pray true prayers.
When you pray for someone, perhaps hold their name gently to your heart, whether you have written it down or are simply holding it in your mind. If music is playing while you pray, or while you envision that person thriving, allow it to support you. Remember this: anytime you pray for another, you are praying that very blessing for yourself.
The Divine is Omniscient, and we are all One. We are a golden tapestry woven together. When you pray for another, you are blessed twice over. Double-whammied with goodness. And that is beautiful.
Speak to the Divine or whatever name feels sacred to you. I call it the Divine Mother Shakti. You might say, “I love you so much, and I know that God loves you so much.” And for the one you are praying for, “You have Enlightenment within you. I know that God desires for you to have everything that brings you happiness. I now see you open and receptive to receive this love. The Divine Presence has gone before you and prepared the way. All good is here for you. I give thanks for your good fortune, your peace, your joy, your health, your vitality.”
You need not say it aloud. Or simply write it down. The heart speaks clearly. In this way, you are not praying to their personality. You are not praying to their circumstances. Your Enlightenment is connecting directly to their Enlightenment. However, there are certain prayers I do not recommend...
Often, someone will say to me, “Michele, I am in love with this man or this woman, and I want them in my life. Will you pray for them to be with me?”
And I lovingly say, “No. I will not.” Because the Divine knows who is for your highest Divine good. You may not always know that, my friend.
Sometimes we feel a void, a kind of soul sickness, and we believe romance will heal it. We imagine another person will complete us. But you must be complete first. Thank you, Tom Cruise, for that reminder. The Divine completes me. That is a powerful affirmation. So do not pray for a particular person. Instead, pray for qualities.
Whenever I have needed someone to work with me, I have written down the characteristics I love in a person: loyal, kind, honest, eager to learn; someone who treats my students and customers with warmth and respect; someone who loves what they do; someone who loves me, and whom I love. And together, we work with More Love.
This is how I attracted Treavor Rogers, who has worked with me for over 18 years. At the time, he was working at Blockbuster. I did not pray for a man or a woman. I prayed for qualities, and those qualities arrived in human form. All of you who know Treavor understand how remarkable he is, non-judgemental, loyal, focused, loving in his work.
The same is true for Johnny Endara, who has worked with me for over 24 years. I wrote down the qualities, and he appeared. He creates our beautiful websites and has now trained Treavor as well. And that is how I met the beautiful Holly Fallah, who has developed all of our Apps and so much more.
This is how you attract the right people, your soul family. Even in romance, do not pray for a specific individual. Pray for kindness. Pray for integrity. Pray for loyalty. Pray for shared growth. Pray for the qualities that matter.
And remember, no one works for me. They work with me. Never pray for a fixed outcome. The Divine sees further than you can imagine. When I pray for you, I do not pray for something small or specific. I pray for something far more Infinite than you could conceive for yourself. Then be still. Rest in stillness infused with love, and simply say, “Thank you, Divine.”
After praying for someone, allow yourself to feel love for them, not attachment to their personality, not agreement with their behaviour, but love for the Divine within them. You may not like someone. But you can always love the Divine that lives within them.
You may recall where I say, “That person is God-governed,” especially when referring to someone who appears homeless or suffering.
What does it truly mean to be God-governed?
When you declare, “I am 100% God-governed,” you are making a profoundly powerful statement. It means that Omnipotent Power, the only Power that exists, is for you and with you. It means Omniscient Wisdom is guiding you. It means Omnipresent Spirit is ever-present within you. You are One with all that is. It is all consciousness. It is all Divine.
If you could fully feel how deeply the Divine within you loves you, it would overwhelm you. So God bless your prayers. God bless you. And I say to you now, you who are reading these words, you, my darling, are 100% God-governed.
Say it: “I am 100% God-governed.”
If the word God does not resonate, use Divine. Use Spirit. Use Eternity. The Divine knows your heart.
“I am one with the Divine. I am one with Enlightenment. I am 100% Enlightenment-governed.”
Now, let us look more deeply at praying for those you love. Before you begin, take a slow breath in through your nose. Hold it gently. Then release it slowly through your mouth. Do this again.
We give thanks that all of our loved ones experience even better lives, more peace, more joy, greater health, stronger discipline, and deeper self-love. Declare “Harmony reigns supreme in all of my loved ones’ lives.”
And remember this powerful affirmation: “Harmony reigns supreme in my life. Harmony reigns supreme wherever I go.” If praying for another: “Harmony reigns supreme in your life. The Divine Presence is with you and has gone before you and prepared the way.”
Your prayer may be this simple: “Harmony reigns supreme in your life and in your consciousness. The Divine Presence has gone before you and prepared the way. Every cell of your being is saturated with Holy Light. Harmony reigns supreme.”
You see, the Divine Presence is the Power. This True Prayer book will assist you to become a clearer conduit for the Divine, and those who pass by you will feel it.
Speak even to the cells of your own body. Tell them they are giggling. Tell them they are laughing. See them vibrant, healthy, perfect and alive.
You are deeply loved. I Am with you. The Divine Presence has gone before you and prepared the way.

How the Idea of Manifesting is Ruining Your Chances of Success
Manifesting. It's one of those words that people are using a lot thanks to the slew of new books, infomercials, and movies that proclaim that nothing is earned and nothing is worked for, rather things "manifest" in one's life - as long as they "ask" or "think" the right things. Want a car? Visualize it. Think about it. Feel it. And then ... *BAM* ... It will "manifest" in your life. How about a million dollars? No problem! Once again, visualize it and feel it, and then ... *P
