Liposuction is often regarded as a surgery exclusively for women. However, there are also a lot of men who get this procedure. This surgery can help men to lose excess body fat and become slimmer and more attractive. Liposuction isn't just for celebrities, either. There are also plenty of everyday men who undergo this procedure.

When men want to get liposuction, they often wonder which parts of the body they can have operated on. The short answer is almost anywhere there's fat. However, even though the procedure can be performed almost anywhere, there are a number of places which are more popular than others.

Men store fat differently than women, so the most popular places for men to get liposuction are different than on women. The abdomen is the most popular place for men to get liposuction, because men tend to store a large percentage of their body fat around their abdomens. This fat can be stored on either the front or on the sides, and these places are typically treated as different target areas for the purposes of surgery. The front is usually referred to as the belly, and the sides are referred to as the flanks or love handles.

Because men don't frequently store much fat around their hips, thighs, or buttocks, these places are not nearly as popular target areas among men. However, if men do have significant amounts of body fat in these areas, they can be treated.

The breasts are also popular places for men to undergo liposuction. Even though not nearly as many men store significant amounts of fat around their breasts as women, there are nonetheless a relatively large amount of men who do have more breast fat than they wish. These men can have their chests reduced using liposuction. Men can also have fat around the face and neck suctioned away using liposuction. This can help their faces to look more youthful and attractive.

Men should be aware that their liposuction procedure may cost more than a similar procedure performed on a woman. Men tend to have tougher, more fibrous fat than women, and this means that the surgery is usually longer and harder. Also, men's bodies are typically larger than women's, and this can result in needing more fat removed. Both of these factors can mean that men end up with more expensive procedures. If you would like to know how much your procedure would cost, you can ask your surgeon for more details.
