We’ve all heard that life is what you make of it. But when you don’t know what you want to make of your life... this old adage can seem like a slap in the face.

But it’s not. For those women who are particularly stuck and not sure where to start and they feel like every worthwhile project would be overwhelming, they need to start at the very beginning (step #1). Otherwise they’ll never find the stardom they seek.

To be the star of your life you need to make things happen in your life. Even the Hollywood stars don’t sit at home on the couch waiting for fame to hit. And those who find themselves on the couch a little too often soon lose their shine.

Assuming you’re not searching for the Hollywood kind of stardom...

Here are 3 simple steps that are guaranteed to make you a star of your life.

#1. Find a passion. This starts by knowing your strengths, values, and all that you have to offer. I promise your passion in life has nothing to do with your worst weaknesses and with the type of tasks you hate. That would be too cruel. So STOP focusing on your weaknesses and flaws and spend time getting to know your finer points. From this activity you’ll discover your happiest and most passionate moments. And remember, there’s no pressure to find THE passion of your life... just A passion... something that makes you feel good.

#2. Get out of your house! Nothing will make you feel more alive than trying new activities (and going to work every day does not count as getting out of the house... for many of you that’s boring and routine). Do something different. Whether you use your time to volunteer, sign up for local social or professional clubs, or take a new course (not ONLINE! then you’ll still be stuck in the house), you’ll notice that walking back into your house will feel like a breath of fresh air. You’ll not only feel accomplished, but coming home will be a treat (as opposed to coming home to the same old thing... TV). And you’ll have that much more to talk about with friends and family. No more dead-end, meaningless conversations about the people who annoy you!

#3. Take control. Having control of your life is essential to your well-being and feeling like you own your life... not like your life owns you. Nothing else will matter if you feel like areas of your life are out of control. This includes: having an organized home and workplace, controlling your response to toxic people and not letting them get the better of you, taking your time with your hair, makeup, and clothes, getting your finances together... or whatever you think you need to do to take better control over of your life. All of these combined will give you a feeling of being in charge of your domain (not like you are living a dead-end life). It will give you a feeling of power and you will build clout and influence among your friends. They will look at you and then want to BE you. Because you will be a real-life star!
