To be a perfectionist can be a real blessing. The drive to achieve perfection can push you to achieve great things. Sometimes, however, it can be a hindrance or in extreme cases perfectionism can create a barrier that stops a person from even embarking upon a challenge.
Steve Jobs had a passion for perfection that pushed him and many others to create a great number of highly innovative gadgets that so many of us depend upon these days. At this moment I am typing upon my MacBook air, whilst my iPad and iPhone sit by my side. Every day I marvel at their sleek profiles and their ease of functionality. This of course is a superb example of perfectionism that stimulates creativity in a powerful and positive manner.
Many colleagues and associates may have wished that Mr. Jobs had been a little less of a perfectionist; He too may have wished to be a little less driven at times. The users of his products would certainly not agree. We love and appreciate the results of his perfectionism.
Other perfectionists can be a whole lot less productive and anything but prolific in their output. For some people their perfectionism stops them from even getting started on a task. They want everything to be so perfect that their goals become so huge and so difficult that they do not even reach the start line in their race.
These are the people who need to find a way in which to temper their perfectionist streak. Their perfectionism is holding them back and trapping them in a small and sometimes anxious space. They feel frustrated. They feel as if they are wearing handcuffs and are chained down to the ground. Somehow they need to find a way to unlock those cuffs and chains and break free from the prison that perfectionism has created.
The key is to be able to look at things in a different way; to come to the conscious and subconscious realization that to achieve even 20% of what you might be capable of is better than achieving nothing. Ideally, a person wants to be able to accept that you can only ever do your best with the tools and time that you have available. Nobody else would ask for more than that.
Hypnosis is a wonderful tool to employ when you wish to change the way in which you think. Hypnosis is a normal and natural state of mind. It is easy to use simply by listening to a hypnosis mp3 download.
