LEADER or FOLLOWER?

The best leaders are those who know how to follow.

Coaching is about asking powerful questions. Leader or follower falls into that category, and it is one I contemplate often because of the wide spread implications. Give it some thought.

Am I a leader or a follower? The fact is, I am responsible for where I end up. If I choose to be a follower, I'd better follow leaders who know where they're going. And I had better know where they're going.

If I choose to be a leader, I'd better know that I'm responsible for getting myself on the right path. I also must be honest with my followers, so they can make good choices. I'm not responsible for my followers' choices, but I must give them the truth. Being a leader doesn't always mean I know where I'll end up. But it can mean that I know I'm on the right path, following the lead from my Higher Power -the Universal Truth that dwells within - one step at a time.
I am blessed to have found some great leaders in my life. People, who know, understand and speak with Universal Truth. They have opened my eyes to so many things, and lovingly held me accountable.
In some ways I am blessed to have the opportunity to lead. I am an active sponsor/mentor to several in recovery and professionally, I am blessed with the opportunity to coach several people and help them discover answers for many parts of their lives.
To lead, I must be responsible and also follow on a daily basis. Another of life’s paradoxes!
