Love What You Do

Our life is our work of art. When we work on something we're really passionate about and we love what we do, we will certainly succeed. Let's consider the lives of saints, artists, musicians, writers, famous architects, athletes, entrepreneurs and all successful people in this world. The common denominator is this: they have this fire inside of them, their work is their life, they do it for the pleasure, not for the money. A few years ago I was having dinner with this famous architect in Brazil. He was 85 years old, still very active and working so hard, his wife 30 years younger than him, told me she had a hard time keeping up with his busy schedule. He had the greatest sense of humor, I can not forget the metaphor he used to describe his work: "Work for me is just like having this wonderful meal and enjoying every bite of it, the money I get?... Oh, that is just like poop!"

Every moment is a moment of creation and infinite possibilities. We can look at different alte
atives and always try something new, different and potentially more rewarding. We have to be open to new opportunities, new ways of thinking and be flexible enough to adapt and change. We need to discover our higher purpose and make a positive contribution to the people in this world. In our own special and unique way we all have something to offer to each other. We have a significant contribution to make with our lives, doing something we love to do, using our God given talents to make a contribution to the world.

I knew in my heart what was my higher purpose, but I did not consciously acknowledge it, even to myself. I went to great lengths to hide it from myself and from the world. I fell on all the pitfalls that prevented me from reaching my potential. I assumed that I would automatically grow, without doing anything different. It was never the right time to begin living my dream. I was afraid to make mistakes. I would do something only after I found the best way to do it. I didn't feel like doing it yet. Others are so much better tha
I was. So it took me 40 years of my life to finally let go of my fears, to consciously acknowledge and express my true purpose in life. Finally now I love what I do and I fully embrace the power, responsibility and the light which comes with it. My suggestion to you: don't wait so long ... life is short! "Live the life you love, love the life you live!"
