Subtle Message

Throughout our lives we often have to receive the same message from different sources until we actually get it. It could start with, say, your husband telling you need to take better care of yourself or your wife saying that your talents are wasted in your current job. But the first time you hear the message, it passes over your head without fully registering.

Weeks, months or even years later someone else, perhaps a work colleague passes comment on that same thing, along the lines of what your spouse said to you before. And this time you hear it. But you shrug it off.

Then, when you’re least expecting it, a close friend or perhaps a stranger, notices whatever it is again and tells you. And suddenly the penny drops. Your awareness stretches and you get it. You know it. You feel it. Other people have seen the gap except you.

But now you’ve got the message. And when you get the message there is such an immediate shift in your thinking that you will feel compelled to take action: To do it. Because in your heart you know that it’s right.
