Super Easy Stress Relief Method: Get Out And Play
Written by Michael Pollak
As we walked up the hill the sky was already turning from blue to orange. The anticipation was building with every step. As we got closer to the top of the hill the bright orange sun came into view. It was glorious. My son was so excited he couldn't stop running to get to the top. We never before sat together to watch the sun set. As we got to the top of the hill and sat on a bench the sun was slowly sinking behind a distant mountain range. "Goodbye sun," we said as it sank beyond the horizon, "We'll see you tomorrow!"
It was a most relaxing time, my son sitting next to me on the bench sharing a precious moment together. As you read that intro could you see the sun set? Could you see the beautiful colors transform from blue, to orange, to pink, then darkness. When was the last time you went out to play?
Our lives can be so busy at times that we are a ball of stress. The easiest method for stress relief is to get out and play. Before we went to the park that day I was feeling the stress pretty thick. As we left the park the stress had melted away to a feeling of contentment and peace.
Time and time again I see the lasting effects of breaking out of the mold and the ruts of life to enjoy the outdoors with my family. What a great break from the stresses we encounter each day. It is definitely a great battery charger to get us ready to take on tomorrow. There is just something powerful about being outside enjoying the fresh air.
If you are feeling the ugly effects of stress, get out and play with those closest to you. You will see the wonderful strength it gives you to tackle the difficult things in life. Just as the sun set peacefully beyond the horizon, your stress will also set when you take time to see the beauties of the outdoors. Pencil your family into your schedule this week and share those precious moments together. You will thank me for the reminder.
Sincerely,
Michael Pollak

Life Is Meant For Joy
With bills to pay, rent to cover, kids to corral, too much to do in too little time, especially with the Holidays upon us and all the extra stuff that needs tending, doing, paying for? Joy? Give it a rest. Well, I would, except joy is our basic nature. It’s what everything else we do is aiming for. Yes, money is nice, but why?
