From the moment that someone wakes up until the moment they fall asleep, their attention will be on all kinds of things. And, it could be said that even when they are asleep, their attention can still be on different things thanks to the dreams that they may have.

When they are awake, they are likely to spend a fair amount of time both focusing on their Smartphone and on what is taking place around them. Along with this, there will be what is taking place inside them that absorbs their attention.

A Strong Pull

Due to how powerful their five senses are, it is not going to be a surprise if what is going on around them absorbs most if not all of their attention. So, if they are not somewhere where there is a lot going on, it won’t necessarily mean that there won’t be anything to command their attention.

There will, of course, be their Smartphone but there can also be a radio, TV and/or a computer/laptop. If they were to use a social media site, there will be no shortage of things that will consume their attention.

Now, it is not uncommon for one person to say to another, “how are you spending your day?” When someone focuses their attention on something, they are also spending something.

Firstly, they are spending their time and, secondly, they are spending their energy. As wherever their attention goes is also where their energy goes.

No Different

It can seem as though if one is going for a walk or perhaps a run, they are using their energy but, if they are just focusing on something, this is not the case. In this case, it won’t matter what they do or don’t focus their attention on.

That’s not all there is to it, though, as where their energy goes is what will grow. What this comes down to is that they are not merely a passive observer of reality; they are both an observer and a co-creator of their own reality.

Yet, if they don’t have this understanding and realise how important their attention is, let alone that it is creative, there will be no reason for them to be discerning when it comes to what they focus on. To use an analogy: it will be as though they have bread crumbs in their hands, so it won’t matter where they are thrown.

In reality, they will have seeds in their hands that will literally grow into the very fabric of their reality. With this in mind, their attention is incredibly powerful and valuable and it will need to be used very carefully.

One Example

One way that external sources can harvest their attention and, thus, use their energy and creative power, is by tapping into the survival part of their being – another way is through tapping into their ability to empathise. After viewing content that has this aim and then experiencing fear, they will be consumed by and send their energy to whatever it is that is positioned as being a threat to their survival.

But, by focusing on and directing their creative energy into what is going on, they are going to be feeding into and sustaining what is taking place. However, if they were stuck in the old paradigm, they would just see themselves as merely observing what is going on ‘out there’; nothing more, nothing less.

One thing that someone can do, if they want to get an idea of how powerful their attention is, is to buy a plant and stop watering it after a few days. What they will soon see is that the plant starts to wilt.
