You Can Make Simple Changes To Become Fit
Written by Ramil Morla
Many people don't realize just how important fitness is to their life. Fitness is more than just losing weight; it's committing to being the healthiest and happiest you that you can be. Here are some great ways to get fit and to propel you toward optimum levels of personal fitness.
A great tip when your calves feel tight after running is to sleep on your stomach while hanging your feet off the bed. The reason for this is because gravity will assist you in stretching your calf muscles through the entire night. Try this one night, and your calves will feel amazing the next morning.
Try using the US Marine Corps' fitness plan to gauge your level off fitness. See if you can do twenty pull-ups, one hundred crunches, and a three-mile run in under 18 minutes all within a two hour time period. If you can, you're on par with the standards of the Marines. If not, keep working and see if you can reach this goal.
Perform your fitness activities and workouts correctly. The best way to receive the maximum benefit from your fitness activities and workouts, is that you want to have an appropriate form and complete the exercises in the most appropriate method. Otherwise, you could easily hurt yourself or could even find that results are hard to obtain.
Making up your own workout routine is a great way to stay in shape without having to join a gym. The equipment that you use in a gym simply replicates activities that you might do on your own. Don't have a step climber? Find some stairs that people don't usually use.
If you injure one of your body parts, you should not stop working it out, but instead continue to work it out. For example, if you injure your right leg, you should continue to work out that leg because some of the strength will actually be transferred to the leg not working out.
Fitness doesn't revolve around gyms and sports arenas. Fitness can be done at home with bodyweight exercises or in the office with light stretching. Fitness can even involve day to day activities, such as, walking up the stairs or running to catch the bus. Realizing that being healthy and going to the gym doesn't necessarily go hand in hand, may help individuals realize that they can exercise anywhere.
Limit your strength training fitness workout to three times a week to achieve the maximum benefits for your muscles. The real work for your body in strengthening muscles happens in the recovery time between workouts. Doing your workout routine for strength-training more than three times a week does not allow sufficient time for recovery and re-building.
Getting fit takes some time; it doesn't happen ove
ight. But working out a fitness routine and committing to your own success can help. Use these tips to help you do that and decide to work on your fitness no matter what. Be healthy by being fit and be happier as well.
