This morning as I watched the local news, I was appalled by another segment on the failing health of our society. I felt empathy, sadness and a need to help with an offer of suggestions and encouragement. It was similar support that changed my life and gave me hope to turn my life around from ...

I choose my words carefully. Always have, always will. It's part of my personality, but beyond that, I've realized how the words you use can really propel you towards success, OR get in your way.
I asked around “What comes to your mind when I say consistency?” Here are the responses : State of Data, Jugge aut, Roger Federer, Sachin Tendulkar, Apple i-phone sales, Day and Night, Rahul Dravid, Regularity, Cake dough consistency, Fibonacci series, Government Failure, Water shortage, Traffic problems, Balance, Good health, Uniform growth, Discipline, Reliability, Volatility of stock markets
Did you know that you talk to yourself all day long? (Yes, you're likely doing it right now. You can't deny it!) Also, I'm not talking about the all of the mental chatter about the various activities and chores you need to remember and manage throughout the day. Yes, it's also self talk but not the type I'm going to discuss, I'm speaking about the things you say to yourself on a regular basis and more specifically the tone and words used. Think about this: When you make a mistake, how do you react? Do you call yourself derogatory names?
The Universe loves a vacuum. In order to attract something new, we have to create a vacuum, create a space, for the desired something to move into. Like moving the furniture in your home to accommodate the new piano. If you continue to acquire new things in your home without letting go of some of the old stuff, what do you think your home will look like after a while? Stuff piled on top of stuff, no room to maneuver, major dust collecting, and soon you don’t even want to enter that room. The clutter has taken over. Your brain is just like that room.
Holistic Living-Spiritual Awakeningr For something to have an “AWAKENING”, it must have been asleep. Now isn’t that the most brilliant thing you’ve ever read. For me, I made the changes in my life for one big reason, to live abundantly with peace with in. I was an unhappy person and knew that there was a positive option. I had no real idea on how to realize the option. After trying to figure it out and fix it on my own without real success, I sought and got help.r
“What do the simple folk do, to help them escape when they’re blue”, sang the King in the Broadway musical, Camelot. He felt someone had the secret, but he did not. It’s difficult to force yourself to laugh, and annoying if someone else urges you to do so when you don’t feel like it. But developing strategies to bring genuine laughter into your life can be an important part of stress management. Not only do your feelings improve; you health does, too, and your problem-solving abilities take a big step forward.

Emotional eating is a signal that life is out of balance. Emotional eating and overeating happen when we use food to try to help us manage our feelings. The triggers for emotional eating vary–we might eat to cope with loneliness, unhappiness, stress or boredom. Sometimes we eat for comfort or in an attempt to create a pleasant experience, when food really isn't what we crave. Finding other avenues to meet our emotional needs and other ways to shift our moods is one of the most powerful things we can do to take charge of our eating, our weight, and our health.
Before the conference today, I had spoken to the founder about my need to pump. So she was kind enough to find a private one-stall bathroom with an outlet for me. Since the other restrooms in this hotel either had multiple stalls or no outlet, this was the only place I could use in discretion. At break, I take the elevator to floor 2M. When the doors open, two ladies and a gentleman are standing in the facing room. I see the restroom behind them, and one lady says, "The conference is on the second floor... down one." I respond, "I'm using the restroom here."
I had plans for today. It's Sunday, so I'm going to take Blaise to the park. He just loves swinging and propping his foot up in the swing to steady himself. That way, he doesn't have to hold on and can gnaw on his hands instead. I also need to get my blogs done for the week. That's five blog posts. No problem. Blaise will sleep several times throughout the day, so that gives me plenty of time to do them. Great. I have a plan for the day, and I should have time to finish it all.
Do you have “personal” power? I’m not referring to the power that comes from material wealth or the ability to control people and situations. I’m referring to the kind of power that comes from within—the power that is authentic only to you. Women with “personal” power are secure in their own self-confidence and self-esteem. They are at peace with who they are at their core and they encourage others to be more of who they are. Women with “personal” power encourage others to show up in the world exactly as they are. You’ve probably met this woman before.
There I've said it- the "s" word. I sometimes see women cringe when the word comes up in conversation, however if you don't master the art of getting the sale, you may find your business is always up and down with cash flow. I was involved in a sales process recently (I was the buyer) and it was simple and smooth. Below is the sequence of events and six clues to easily get more sales to grow your business:

The secret to conquering disease is by shifting from hate to love.
“Your path ahead isn’t the purpose, but rather your gifts within open the doors of your life purpose.” ~Rick Hayes~ Many would assume by glancing at my life path these past nine years would be considered strange, bizarre, and even somewhat mystical. The reply to these assumptions may be not what is expected, and quite possibly shocking!
Has nature ever taught you something? This week nature presented us with a remarkable learning experience.r
Last Sunday I was sitting in on a class we conduct for newcomers at our church. One of our pastors said, “If we don’t change, we aren’t growing, and if we aren’t growing, we are dying”. Isn’t that so true? If you want your life to remain status quo, then your best guarantee is to resist ...
One of the questions I get asked often by women entrepreneurs is, “Joy, once I’ve created a relationship with my ideal client, how do I get them to buy from me?” Great question! Notice how the question was worded: “once I’ve created the relationship…” Smart women know the first step in marketing their business is establishing a feeling of belief and trust with their ideal client.
I was sat in my living room the other day just thinking about all the great things that have happened in my life over the past three or four years and I started to wonder about all the changes that have happened. I got to thinking about how the coaches I have, the friends I have and the people I surround myself with have, in their own way, created changes in my life. The more I thought about this and wondered how they helped me to change, I started to realise what it was. P
Carolyn Myss says that every time you take action to grow, the very next thing to occur is self-sabotage. Every single time! I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t add to my willingness to move forward. Yet moving forward I must, so let’s take this self-sabotage thing on straight away. For me it’s that feeling of being a fraud. Every time I decide to play bigger and put myself out there to serve more, I hear that voice inside say, “I wouldn’t do that, they’re going to find you out!”
I have never been a perfectionist. I drop food on my clothes, leave the house with wet hair, wear makeup only when necessary and buy cheap sunglasses because eventually, I will scratch or break every single pair. When it comes to mothering, I am also imperfect. I get my children to bed too late at times, forget to make the occasional lunch and when it comes to showers; well, let’s just say that an eight-year-old can go a full week without a shampoo and still be presentable.
Negative emotions such as fear, stress, anxiety, guilt, or resentment burn your will power and drain your energy more and faster than anything else in your life. Emotions are labels we put on ourselves to describe a very personal physical experience. They arise from personal judgment, low self-esteem or a lack of trust in your own capabilities.
If you have been hitting constant road blocks on your jou ey to success, it's quite possible that you've been trying to take short-cuts and find an easy way to the top. Like many people, you're probably at the point where you are tired of feeling like a failure and being beat up by life. Recently, I was having lunch with a friend who was feeling like her email in-box was being attacked with messages - sound familiar? We've all had this happen before and there may be times when we are the guilty culprit-unconsciously I might add.
Focus is about saying no – Steve Jobs Something struck me very deep when I stumbled on this quote. All this while I thought focus only meant fiercely concentrating on what you want to get done, but now I have come to understand that – Focus is more about saying no to distractions! I finished reading Peter Bregman’s book 18 Minutes: Find Your Focus, Master Distraction, and Get the Right Things Done…what an amazing read! It has left me with completely fresh perspective on focus and time management. If you have been struggling with getting things done on timer
I've been a coach for several years now, and I have had plenty of times that I've felt like a big phony. I have had my moments where I'm preaching one thing and practicing another. There are times I've experienced intense fear about being "found out": such as being caught eating burger king after talking about the importance of good health all day. Oh yes, I sure have done it.

As a mom I find that I am often providing services for which I have no training at all. For example; I have no business helping anyone with 9th grade math. In fact, I am finding that I am only slightly qualified to help with 4th grade math. And yet, on a regular basis, I hold my child’s hand and wade into the deep end of factors and algebraic expressions, as if I have a clue.r
No one likes to be criticized. I wish I could avoid it completely, but that’s not the way life works. I have spent many an hour listening to clients complain about the criticism they receive from parents, spouses, and bosses. They clearly need my empathy and understanding and perhaps affirmation that the criticism was unwarranted and unfair. I, of course, offer as much empathy and affirmation as I can. However, I rarely stop there. I ask the client if they are willing to explore how they responded to the criticism. Most of us don’t respond well to criticism.
In the present day business world, business leaders face more pressures than ever. And the dynamics of today’s business world requires that multinational CEOs remain on top of their game in every stratum of their jobs so as to stay ahead of contemporaries and competitors. Ideally, modern business leaders have had to contend with rapidly changing markets, technologies and workforces, increased financial and legal scrutiny . . . and more.
The ego is a part of one’s emotional layout whose prime responsibility is to safeguard the self. The ego is not real in physical terms, which means that you can’t taste, touch or smell it, however it still perseveres. The ego is not good or bad, it really is only a survival system existent within you to ensure you stay safe and protected through your lifetime. Whenever a baby or young child is not getting its needs fulfilled it would cry, protest, or have a temper-tantrum.
Are you one of those people who feels a bit anxious when things get really, reaaaaaallly good? Do you habitually cover your proverbial head, waiting for the other shoe to drop? Ugh. Don't you just hate that? It's one thing to be awake and aware that the unexpected does and will occur, but to go through life braced for it, afraid to risk and truly LIVE? That's debilitating.

America is going through a Job test! So, what is a Job test one might ask? Why, one might ask, would God allow a man to lose everything an
Research has shown that the average adult changes careers at least 3 times during their life (and often more than that). That figure makes sense when you consider how much we grow over time and that a career spans at least 40 years. Over time our values, priorities, and interests change and we ...
Life Coaching has quickly become extremely popular in the last five years. With the challenges and stress in people's personal lives, this comes as no surprise. Life Coaches are professionals that "coach" an individual in all aspects of their personal life. They are a cross between a mentor and a teacher. Hiring a Life Coach isn't just necessary when your life is out of control. They are also perfect to work with when your life is going well. If you are considering hiring a L
The number one weight loss mistake that dieters and emotional overeaters make has nothing to do with food--but it flavors everything. The number one mistake people make when they are trying to gain control of emotional overeating is that they get mad at themselves and beat themselves up emotionally when things don't go as planned, when they have a slip,or when they overeat.

'Have you read the Art of War?' someone asked me once. Fighting someone to get your way is definitely a valid strategy. But you don't need me to tell you about that one - we've all been arguing and manipulating to get our own way since we were born! And you may have noticed - often when you ...

A few days ago, my husband Greg and I had dinner with my good friend and smart woman, Diane Elander and her family. (http://www.dianeelander.com) Diane is a "food stylist." She is an artist who creates that appetizing, desirous emotion that you feel when you see her creations in cookbooks, magazines, and product packaging. When she pulled up her web site and we took a "tour" of her food creations, each photo made your mouth water and "crave" each dish.
